because of a bank day last Thursday, we had a four days weekend. The boys have become such homebodies, like their mama (aren't I proud ? you bet ! LOL) So we didn't go very far during these 4 days, and really I couldn't be happier. I love being outdoors, but I love being indoors just as much ! (sounds well balanced, right ?!) So I did manage to sew little thing for the shop. Lavender strawberries & jam jar covers.
we've also been dyeing during these four days. Three times, to be precise. Once with the cornflowers (will show results tomorrow, I have to take photos, but anyway, don't expect blue), once with onion skins (staying overnight, will rince & dry & show tomorrow I suppose) and the third one was in fact the start of a solar dye, made with cornflower heads (full, not only with the petals). So I can't share any results until it's over. So we had to go out to pick more cornflowers, only hubby & I, and along the way, and the wayside, we met flowers & plants, that I couldn't resist taking photos of, and sharing with you. They are so often not even noticed, unless you walk next to them, which I don't think happens a lot, as this was a not very frequented street.
so we picked enough flowers to make the solar dye, and we also picked some of them WITH the roots, then cut the roots at home & put them (not the roots, the flowers, I mean) in a vase with water. Last week, hubby & sons had brought me a small bouquet of them (with roots too) and they stayed very well in the water. So now you know, too. (even buds opened)
I hope you all had a lovely, slow, cozy weekend. Next week is supposed to be sunnier over here.
