Housework & Cooking Wednesday

Phew, what a day. It's 08 pm as I'm typing & I have the feeking I spent the whole day making housework. I ironed this morning for an hour & a half (and there are still so much, don't ask me how it piles, because I don't know, but what I know is that it really did feed me up today) I cooked, washed the dishes once & twice. I went to the shop to get veggies for the soup & bubble envelopes. I went picking Chris's suit from the dry-cleaner's. (everything with the boys as it was Wednesday today) As time does fly, it was already the middle of the afternoon & I had to cook the soup, bake rpune-oat flakes muffins (upon my hubby's request, for breakfast), & making something I called " the Brie Turnover ". Brie is a kind of French (and very local) cheese. I simply used readymade puff pastry, cut the round into 4 quarters, and in the middle of them I put two small slices of Brie, covered with a round slice of coppa , and folded the triangle to make a rectangle, and turned it over. I made a kind of mixture with an egg yolk, salt & Herbes de Provence. I "painted" them on the top with it & I put it in the oven at 200°C/400°F, for approx. 15-20mn, until it got a really beautiful golden crust. We haven't eaten them yet as I prepared them for our lunch tomorrow, but I'll let you know the taste test !! (Chris brings his lunch with him at work) You still can have a look at how they look :These are the prune-oat flakes muffins (you can find my recipe here)After that I mixed the soup, washed the dishes for the 4th & 5th time, and unloaded the dishwasher too. Add to this playing with the boys, always keeping an eye (or an ear) on them, having a shower & giving the boys theirs, giving them dinner too & again washing the dishes ... and you have one tired mama. Phew. Don't even ask me if I did anything crafty today, because I haven't !!! But, I can show you the card I machine-sewed for P's bday.Chris should be home soon I hope, and he'll bring Ladurée macarons ... mmm ... delights of the delights ... and it will bring me some photo material for my entry tomorrow ...
