the picture perfect display

although I didn't manage to get anything crafty at all today (I'm having a major blank moment, pooh), I did manage to give a new life to an object I had bought more than ten years ago, that is half broken, that I had forgotten about & found again at my parents' ... I tried to clean it, but it's tricky as the glass panes are fragile, but some dust will give it a more antique look ;-)

originally this object was a frame, supposed to hold photos, sandwiched between two layers of glass. For a moment, that is what it was used for. Then, well, I can't remember what happened. One frame had crackled, then another one, and I suppose I put it away for that reason. Thank goodness I didn't throw it !! Because this afternoon, I had one brilliant idea, if I may say so. (and humble with that, thank you) I'll let you check by yourself what I used it for :

I found a way to display my skeleton leaves collection

it is the perfect display for (most of) my skeleton leaves/samaras collection !!! One of the only way for us to see through the leaves, and admire the lacy work of Nature & decay !

I really couldn't be happier about finding a way to display this specific collection, and finding a new use for such a specific decorative object too.

don't forget that the fossil giveaway is open until tomorrow (click here for entering it), and that today is the last day for taking advantage of 20% off my whole shop, using the coupon code ITSBEEN3YEARS at checkout.

let me wish you all a relaxing middle-of-the-month weekend, thank you so much for stopping by, and for your comments, always. Be well, and in peace.

  1. I used to have a picture frame setup very similar to this. Too bad it's long gone! You have put yours to very good use; just lovely.

  3. What a great way to display the leaves!Sometimes we think that we declutter by throwing away things and then we realise there is a good use for them. For example a digital frame I had left unused and now displays my sea glass photographs continually!Ariadne from Greece!

  5. What a great use for these frames! It's especially neat to be able to see through them and to see both sides. Now, wonder where I can find one of these?
