I have hardly touched the computer today. Oh my. I walked the boys to school (and me, back home) three (out of four) times today. And in between, this is what I did.
in the morning, aside from washing the dishes, loading the dishwasher, having a load of laundry washed & hung, making the beds, tidying everywhere I could tidy, checking my mails, wishing a dear friend (hello Mervi !!) a very happy birthday, and preparing lunch, I decided to tackle the closet where the boys' clothes (and all bedlinen, dish towels etc) reside, and took all of their clothes & undies out, sorted everything (some will go to my parents' or inlaws', some will be given to friends). I decided to relocate their undies, out of the closet, as they couldn't fit anymore the containers they used to fit. Then I re-organized all clothes, moved them back in, and it was SO much better.
I'm lying here. I finished re-organizing at the beginning of the afternoon. I couldn't do this all in fast hours of the morning.
and in the afternoon, hubby started assembling two of the tree pieces of furniture we bought yesterday. These two are for the boys' bedroom. They badly needed more storage room. (as our whole apartment does) So, where they were going to reside now, used to reside lots of other things, included dust & dust bunnies. So, there you go, I spent the whole afternoon, and practically all the rest of the day until we had diner, then until the boys went to bed, cleaning, sorting toys & games, putting away the ones that the boys had outgrown, and like for their outgrown clothes, they will be either given to friends or passed onto other family members (aka our niece)
I have re-organized most of their toys, centralized some, dusted & cleaned all containers. But I do know I still have more to do. One more piece of furniture shall be assembled tomorrow, and more books are going to move, more things will be sorted, I will also check all of their craft supplies & will note down what needs to be refilled or renewed. A less cluttered & more organized home will hopefully, as a consequence, result in less cluttered & more organized minds.
oh, did I mention that I'll be tackling my bedroom then ? (well, there'll be less work to do there, hopefully)
I'm so on a roll, girls, so on a roll.
but alas, being so crazy busy at home left me .... photo-less. Nevermind. Tomorrow's another day.
xoxo

I am tired just reading what you did. Good for you but I hope you are going to relax for what is left of the day. I don't know the time change. Hopefully you have some of the day remaining.:)
ReplyDeleteSeems the organiztion bug strikes a lot of people in January! Think it's a fresh start to the New Year and we want that in our lives, too. Right now I have Ryan, Jacob and Cooper all napping! :) Have a great rest of the week! (((Hugz)))
ReplyDeletei love this pictureless post because i am now closing my eyes and opening my imagination and seeing you doing all the things you describe. I think your days are much longer in france. I could never accomplish so much.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking I should try to capture a few dust bunnies with my macro lens:)
I have done some similar things today so I so much understand you, don't worry! And since you and I both live in apartments we know how difficult it is to get organised and declutter!Ariadne from Greece!
ReplyDeleteouter order contributes to inner calm : ) Now go relax.
ReplyDeleteL
you are on a roll! Seems we have both been hit by the Getting Organised New Year Bug! It's a great way to kick off a new year :o)
ReplyDeleteand of course, the never ending laundry, feeding the troops and basic tidying up is a an every day occurrence!
Hope you can have a less busy day today, but I suspect not. Once that bug bites, it's hard to stop! xxxx
I find projects such as this very satisfying. But, I have always wondered why the results don't last. The dust returns, the clothes are outgrown...I guess life is a process constantly unfolding.
ReplyDeleteEveryone I speak to is going New Year Organizing Crazy. I love it! Normally at this time of year I just feel down and watch tv but for some reason this year is different, my house is tidy and I've been organizing. Keep it up Sonia, you'll feel very pleased afterwards!
