you'll be begging for one

("what the heck is she talking about ?" you must be thinking) no I haven't gone nut .... yet.
today's activity was making "mendiants" (= beggars in English). They are simply treats with chocolate & nuts.

this year's mendiants

another yummy & easy activity

I simply melted chocolate & a little bit of butter in the microwave. Mixed & mixed some more. Poured little mountains that I flattened making a circle, on parchment paper. Then the boys could add nuts I had chopped beforehand : cashew, almonds, nuts. There were also sesame seeds & a bit of sugar (for a little bit more of crunchy effect). They had to press a tiny little bit & now the "mendiants" are drying. I'll be wrapping some of them for the boys' teachers. The rest will be exclusively for us ! (did I tell you that I also made white chocolate ones ? no ? oh)

while I still have some time, I'm going to show you the wreath I made yesterday with olive tree branches that I asked my dad to bring back from their garden.

olive tree wreath

I used only a handful of bits of wire, other than that, the branches are twisted around the branches that were tied. I'm pretty happy with the result, though I'm not sure how long it will last.

and this is how I've been wrapping gifts this year : using furoshiki technique, using red gingham fabric I had in my stash.
See, Arounna, you wanted to see, here it is ! ;-)

folded, knotted, wrapped

I'm not sure I used the proper & traditional folding & knotting techniques, the way I made it worked perfectly with the boxes that were inside, so that's the most important.

have a wonderful & cheerful rest of your day, lovely girls. Thank you for stopping by !!

xoxo
