twig star

making a small twig star was today's activity in our calendar. I've been wanting to make one for a long time, and coincidentally, I stumbled upon this blog post by Molly, yesterday evening.

I'll be honest (as I always am, needless to say) & we had to do this activity after school, and after snack, and both boys were too tired, couldn't focus much anymore, though U did help me making his star. So yes, I ended making them almost on my own.

for the record, the twigs were small (not more than 10cm) and were in fact Queen Anne's Lace (dry, obviously) stems, that I had picked three years ago. And I used hemp yarn for the ties. (sorry for the crappy photo, it was already past 06.30pm when I took it)

twig star

today (well, this morning as I was helping my youngest's teacher to take her class to a local contemporary art museum, so the afternoon was all packed) I also add a very simple (um, Sonia's) touch to the wreath I made a couple of weeks ago with Japanese creeper. I just added thin red gingham ribbon all around. The wreath itself is a bit wonky, I had made it in a hurry (because we had to leave very shortly, the day I made it) but that's OK, that's how life is anyway ... imperfect, a bit wonky, but love-able & worthwhile anyway.

my touch

thank you all so much for your kind words about the tea bag very simple tutorial. I must say it takes more time to make the tutorial itself than the teabags LOL

have a great rest of your day !
