thank you so so much for all your kind, supportive & sweet words yesterday about the sea cushion. I am so happy you all could feel what I felt when I stitched it, that deep feeling of peacefulness. I really wish you could all touch it, it's also very nice to feel it under your fingers.
more needlework to show today ... I'm apologizing for the poor quality of the photos, but they were taken with the Iphone, and it was already so dark inside.
the first one shows Monday's activity : another session of embroidery.and the second shows what was today's activity : starting to make a garland made of small squares of felt". I let them pick colors they wanted from my stash, then my mom & I cut the squares when they were at school, and this evening, they started poking & pulling, and stringing these little squares.these last days I have been sorting (keeping few, throwing much) lots & lots of papers, that I've been keeping AND sorting years after years. You know ... these bits from mags that you keep ... with ideas for making things, for your home, for cooking, for the kids, for this and for that, and ......... you get the idea, right ?!!!. Now I feel like I've been keeping WAY to much. It's been loading folders, themselves loading shelves, cluttering my rooms with useless bits of nothing. So I've been doing this for days (not spending my days doing this, neither, I have other things to do as you can imagine), and I feel that little by little, some weight is lifting off my shelves & mind.
have a good & safe middle of the week everyone

Love the felt squares...a garland perhaps?

I always have the very best intentions to do this as well but life always gets in the way.
ReplyDeleteI expect a few organizational lessons when you visit.
Hi Sonia! Caught up with your posts... sorry I've been gone so long but feeling better now. I have to rally by tomorrow because Ryan & Jacob will be here Thurs and Friday. I'll have to use some of your advent ideas for them when they get a little older. Jessica always loved crafts when she was little. The sea cushion is lovely. Our guest bedroom is sea-inspired and a pillow like that would go well with it! Enjoy the rest of the week! (((Hugz)))
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great activity for my little one. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLovely felt garland and great activity for little hands. I'm with you on the decluttering thing. I keep pieces of paper for this, that and the other reason, rarely ever putting them to use. A few minutes here and there lately and I'm feeling a little better about corners that I used to avoid looking at.
