your feedback

thank you so much for giving me your sincere opinion about the question I asked in my last post. I knew it would be thought provoking, and I can tell you that the silicon molds will go to the play kitchen (well, sort of, because the boys are now over 6 & 8 & they don't play that much with it anymore). I've already written on my to-do list for next week : buying 2 muffin metal trays/tins (my oven isn't very big, and it won't hold one big, so two smaller ones will be perfect) Then I'll try to figure how to make liners with parchment paper, because I have not seen unbleached cases here (well, I really never looked for them neither, but well, it'd be some kind of miracles to find them) Plus, I suppose it is a bit less expensive. Parchment paper is rather inexpensive.

if you can bare another couple of questions (and because your feedback is precious to me), I would love to know this time ...

. if you work on a Mac (Imac or Macbook ?), and what makes you happy about using it (imagine you would have to sell me one ... see what I mean ?)

. if you have/use an Iphone, and if you love it too

we are actually thinking about getting an Iphone for Christmas (my present) and are wondering about changing to Mac for my computer ... later next year. That's why your feedback & experience with Macs is greatly appreciated.

thank you very much for your help & for stopping by. I do appreciate, very much. Have a wonderful second half of the week.

oh, I was going to forget to tell you that I'm today's Calendar Girl at Whip Up, eeep ! :) Thanks again, Kathreen !!

xoxo

  2. The fact that I can go from email to Twitter to your blog post to writing this comment all the while sipping delicious capuchino , munching Ginger cookies while waiting at the airport is reason enough. Need I say more.

  3. can't help with either I'm afraid!

I've found your question on the cases quandry really interesting. I've done a search and found these http://www.greenapplesandelephants.com/catalogue/view/171/

I'm going to order some in the new year and try them out. I'd never even had thought about it had you not questioned it yesterday :O)

Have a lovely afternoon. No proper snow yet, but we've had a few sleety showers and it is F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G!

  4. Oh, I'm not a mac user but I'm wishing to become one. I had worked on mac a couple of times, and it is nice. It has many features that make multitasking faster (Photoshop, browser, music, film at once - I know person doing it perfectly at one time). I know that the system works good. Ad these computers are good for graphic designers - have better performance than PC. However there is a problem with higher price (here in Poland it is rather big difference between PC and apple products), but I know that apart from first generation products apple computers are reliable, and what's more important they don't age that much as PC, they stand the test of time.
As it goes for iphone this is a really good smartphone, very intuitive, easy to navigate, and apart from being just a phone you can take photos with it or download some games and give it to children while a long journey for instance.
Wow, thats a really long comment :) Hope it will help in making your mind :) cheers from snowy(!) Poland :)

  5. I have not personal experience but my daughter and another young male friend swear by Mac - they are very expensive here or I would have one. Another young friend (two children and used to be a business professional) LOVES her iPhone - uses it for everything. Again - too expensive for me but I'm getting ready to celebrate my 45th wedding anniversary next months if anyone wanted to buy me either. ahem - just kidding. let us know what you do

  6. I have a Mac and I love it. I can't give you any technical reasons as i don't use even half of what it can do. However, it looks so pretty! I love the clean, simple, no fuss design. I'll never go back to a PC.

  7. Hmmmm. Long answer to this one but I've used both forever. When I used PCs it was either due to financial reasons or my employers using them. I know them both well but would always choose Mac first. Apple simply design products with the end user in mind, not developers. The Mac interfaces are intuitive and they also work well with peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) Also, another big reason, my Macs always last for years and years.
Switching to Mac would of course mean having to buy software too, expensive. But, my iMac can run both the Apple operating system and Windows. I only have both because I occasionally need to open files from an old PC. I can switch between the two operating systems using software called VM Ware. This could be helpful if you wanted to switch but not immediately invest in all new Mac programs but invest in them over time.
As for the iPhone. I'm not too into gadgets, and I don't upgrade my phones very often but I knew as soon as my last mobile phone contract was up I would switch to iPhone. The reason being exactly what Margie said. I know other phones now have similar capabilities, but for me, it will always be Apple. They are just so intuitive and easy to use, also well designed and fun too. In the UK, they aren't an inexpensive option, but to me worth every pence! I love my iPhone and feel privileged and lucky to be able to have both Apple products.
(Now Apple if you're reading this testimonial we're trying to save up for a Mac for our son who records his own music. Reducing the student discount to age 12 would be ever so helpful !)

  8. Friend H has an Iphone and swears by it; only good if you actually enjoy being reachable/online/looking at screen a lot, if not the whole time. Friend L has a Mac and swears by it too. A lot more intuitive in its use, or so she says.

    For what it's worth..!

(Recently came upon your blog - it's lovely!)

  9. I bought my second MAC, one of the first G4's with the double processor, in 1994. I finally retired it...it couldn't handle another upgrade and couldn't keep up with the internet anymore...just this year, 2010!!

We bought a PC because we couldn't afford a new MAC. I can't do ANYTHING that I did on my MAC! I miss my MAC and am saving until I can get a new one ASAP!!

I tried to play online games and it went wild...screen was too big to even see!!

I can't listen to music while browsing the internet, and heaven help me if I have too many tabs open and play a music video on Myspace!!

    WAAAAAaaah I miss my MAC!!!

  10. I've got a Macbook and I absolutely can't live without it. I love the dashboard feature which has an easy accessible language translator, dictionary, weather report and you can choose what you would like to have on your dashboard from a variety of options. I love the search tool at the top right, where I can search for a file right away, and there is an integrated dictionary which isn't associated with the web, so even without internet, you have a accessible dictionary. I also enjoy the SPACES program where I can have 4 different desktops. It is great when I am working on different projects that need different things opened. It makes work much less cluttered. One more thing, STICKIES! Stickies are basically computer post its. You get to choose the color of the post it as well as the font and size. It is great when you have to jot things down. I've always got a few stickies here and there to write down to do lists and such. I've had PC's and Mac's, and I have to say the Macbook is absolutely wonderful. Couldn't recommend it enough!
