this is it, today's the day I'm filling the shelves of my little shop, with lots of handmade goodness ! I've been (as you already know) busy like a bee this past week, and I'm ready to show you, all at once, what I've been making with my hands.
first, as you could see from the sneek peek, gingerbread felt biscuits, and ornaments too. There are few of themn but if they are snatched up, I had others already cut & ready to stitch.it may be the last year I'll make them, because they take a whole lot of time (despite their look, I know) ... embroidering through (blend) felt with pearl cotton thread is quite tricky.
then ... please let me introduce my first line of wearable creations : POTENTIAL necklaces !
I prefered the potential meaning best. Potential doesn't have a limit, it is a dynamic state of our evolution. I do believe that everyone has a potential, only waiting to be developped & expressed to the world.
I made three sizes : small, medium & big. (show in that order on the following photos)if you wonder which fabrics I used for making them, well, I either used Liberty of London prints, or salavaged fabrics (corduroy or denim), vintage linen (the offwhite one) & regular, new cotton prints. I made matching little pouches, in which each necklace will be wrapped before shipping. I loved making these as well, it was so much fun !and to celebrate that shop update with everyone, I am giving away a small POTENTIAL necklace, made with a Liberty of London print that I heart a lot. Makes me think of Mackintosh's rose.if you want to have a chance to win this necklace ...
- leave a comment to today's post
- with something that will help me contacting you if you win (!!)
- and in exchange, please give me an idea for an indoor activity that I could use for my Advent calendar, suitable for my two sons, aged 6 & 8 ! I want to hear your ideas !
you can leave a comment until Sunday evening. I will pick a winner at random & will announce the winner next Monday (15th) ! Good luck everyone !!
now, back to listing everything to the SHOP ... the shelves will be full, this evening !EDIT 14/11/2010 11.30pm : the comments are now closed, I used the random number generator & it picked a number. I'll share the name of the winner tomorrow, Monday 15th. Thank you everyone for participating !

Hello Sonia, your acorns are so fun and tempting....:)
ReplyDeletenow let me think of an indoor activity for your advent calendar..... making little spinning tops is great fun, circles of decorated card and pencils or sticks....
thank you x
Those necklaces are beautiful. I love the little bags. I'll be back later. I have to think of an indoor activity.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely Sonia and I love your "Potential" theme. Your ornaments are also gorgeous and I love the way you have photographed them with fairy lights in the background. As for advent calendar ideas, I was thinking this year of trying something a bit different. Take a look at this idea for advent action cards from Ali Edwards:

These are so pretty! And I love the name!
ReplyDeleteLet's see... indoor activity... Well, my kids have really enjoyed origami lately. With ideas from the internet, one beginner level book and a stack of scrap paper, they are having a blast! :)
It's he first time I comment here, although I read your blog and love your photos. I think your idea is perfect: nature, crafting and fabric together! I'm happy I've found someone is so similar to me. Have an happy week Sonia!
ReplyDeleteAdorable necklaces :)
ReplyDeleteFor advent activities, you could cut out paper snowflakes and make a garland, buy and donate a gift for charity, make yummy gifts for the birds and squirrels, make up Christmas Mad-Libs, draw pictures of Christmases around the world.
Hugs,
Heidi

Oh what beautiful things you make!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win one of your acorn necklaces.
An idea for boys would be to finger knit a garland...
I love them and your logo is brilliant. The one your giving away has such pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteOooh, advent calendar activities, you always have such good ideas yourself. My children's favourite seasonal activities are making clay ornaments (air drying clay),d making chocolate treats like truffles and orange pomanders with cloves. Those are three activities we do nearly every year.
Happy Wednesday, Jx
This is too cute! I love making garlands. Paper chain garlands, popcorn garlands, etc. :)
ReplyDeletethe logo and idea behind is so amazing
ReplyDeleteone thing my children always loved to do when they were younger was make little forest scenes on pieces of wood or bark with all sorts of natural materials gathered
i will find a few of these and take pictures for you.
They are all so gorgeous! I'm always in awe of your creativity. Hmm, activities: this year we are going to make holiday paper dolls and, of course, gingerbread houses. One thing we do every year is make newspaper garlands and small nature-themed ornaments for the tree. Have fun! Thinking about it has made me excited!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your acorns look so different, elongate and lovely, compared to the ones we have here.
ReplyDeleteAs for indoor activities, here are a few. My oldest is on a (supervised) pizza-making kick and my husband is going to make him his own simple rolling pin on the lathe. He has so much fun rolling out the dough and putting the tomatoes and cheese on himself. Another idea, make friendship necklaces or bracelets, to keep or give as gifts, like the ones here: http://honestlywtf.com/diy/friendship-necklace-diy
Or, you could have them paint the view from a window, the winter light can be so transforming.
I love these necklaces! the acorns are beautiful! I have no idea of any indoor activities... maybe something with shadow puppets?
ReplyDeleteI love all the things, but the bag, is really beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh these are darling! And a wonderful reminder to honor the potential that is inside all of us. It just so happens that the one you are giving away is my favourite one. So I will cross my fingers!
ReplyDeleteWhat about making outdoor Christmas tree decorations with food for birds? I like to using pine cones slathered in peanut butter and rolled in bird seeds. I tie some twine to the base, and hang them up in my pine tree. I also like to make popcorn and cranberry garlands. It's a nice way to bring Christmas outdoors.
i would love to win they are sooo cute.
ReplyDeleteok indoor activity...cut out 2 ovals of plain fabric. have them draw a fun looking person on the ovals (front and back). then have them stitch around the edges and stuff it. they can give it to a relative as a christmas present. only mention this cause i want my boys to do the same thing!
britt_schmiesing@darke.k12.oh.us
fab makes there, all really lovely! ooh please put me in your giveaway hat :-)
ReplyDeletehhmm ideas, how about making snow globes using glass jars and glitter. Fab fun and cheap :-)
your necklaces are so sweet :)
ReplyDeletei always think making paper snowflakes are fun!
Your potential necklace is one of the most inspiring handmades I've seen. Well done!!
ReplyDeleteLove your potential necklaces - I'd love to win one!
ReplyDeleteMy boys used to enjoy making Father Christmas' out of empty loo roll tubes (red tissue paper, cotton wool etc) and fill with sweets
Gill
How wonderful! I love them! What a perfect name and the bags are just wonderful. I'd be so happy to wear one.
ReplyDeleteI love your necklaces...so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteFelting with wool roving is a fun indoor craft. You and your children could make wool beads for necklaces or maybe cover bars of soap with pretty colors of fleece.
:) Laura F.
You always came up with lovely ideas! I love the logo of the new line :) It would be nice to win an acorn of yours (especially that this year where I live there's no acorns at all!!).
ReplyDeleteCheers
Antilight.
What beautiful handwork and I love your necklaces both in concept & in reality. So pretty. Wonderful idea.
