autumn shall not be too warm

that's what I think !
yesterday was super sunny, super warm, it went up to 23°C / 73.5°F ... and it's not supposed to get colder or rainy until Sunday. Ugh. I will not complain too much, we're saving on heat, encapsulate the sun, but really, it's too warm to know how to be dressed the right way ... a couple of weeks ago, when it got cold, I had taken the flannels & warm linens out ... and now we're too hot in them & I don't want to change them all now !! Don't get me started on germs ... you know how much they love warmth. (yuck) Oh well ... I'm enjoying the colors from my windows, and this is what I can see :

slowly but surely turning to red

slowly but surely turning to yellow

creeping

but the wind blew a lot yesterday, and sometimes it was "raining leaves", it was so beautiful !

too warm + blowing

can you spot the leaves being blown away ? I loved this so. Even though it means that more windy days will get these trees naked in no time.

enjoy your autumn, whatever it may be actually ... warm & windy, or cold & frosty. Make every day count.

  1. What a stunning view from your window with all those beautiful colours - how lovely!! I know what you mean about the in between weather - here it's Spring but some days are still cool (enough to still want a warm quilt cover on) and then yesterday was scorching hot.

  2. I don't know exactly how to express this, but I love how each of your autumn photos captures a panoramic view of tiny things. Does that make sense? The scale somehow is just so right.

There is a Gabriel Garcia Marquez book of short stories whose title is so evocative: La Hojarasca ("Leafstorm"). I love the idea of being caught in one.

  3. I want the view from your window - gorgeous! Our trees aren't changing all together - only a few here and there. Hope we get more color than we have so far before they turn brown and fall to the earth.

I love Gabriel Garcia Marquez Pat but I don't have any short stories, I will look for them - thanks for the tip :)
