blogging from my inlaws', where we've been since yesterday evening.
sunny morning in my inlaws' garden
this morning was so sunny warm, I made some photos in my inlaws' garden ...the girl kittens say hello ! :D aren't they adorable ?
I'm finding beauty in these decaying, wrinkled petals of plumbago flowers. I loose myself dreaming of a silk dress made in the same color, with the same floppy, wrinkled texture ...but maybe you can call me crazy ... I don't know ... then I wander a little bit more & observe the cacti ...then I keep on walking (the garden is small), and spot pink edges on rose leaf ...and the twirling pistils of the Mirabilis jalapa (The four o'clock flower or marvel of Peru) ...
rainy afternoon in the garrigue
one of the reasons we spent the weekend at my inlaws' is to go pick again phillyrea angustifolia (the blue berries that dyed a beautiful shade of teal-y green). We'll either freeze them here at my inlaws' (we have no freezer) or we'll bring them home & use them on Monday. We'll see. We also picked something else to dye with, we'll see what we'll do with them too. I also admired the garrigue itself, so here are some photos taken there, before it started raining. This is probably the very first fungus I've ever spotted in the garrigue :I picked these cheery dry flowers, to add to the bouquet of dry flowers/seeds that I have at home.I saw cone shaped snails ...mustard yellow & grey are so 'in' this autumn, I love both colors ... and even lichens are trendy ;-)last but not least, I made the sweet encounter of a lady in the wild ... a ladybird/ladybug in the wild fennel eheh. She held on tight to the skeleton leaves I had picked, so I could take her to a little ride for a couple of meters. A lovely meeting for sure ...I have drawn something that I hope hubby to turn into PDF next week at work. I'll be sharing, then.
wishing you all a lovely weekend. Thank you so much for stopping by !

phew. I think I'm all caught up with your posts (thank you for the bd wishes on the day!) wow, how many steps do you have to walk up?! I would fall down them wearing my heels, I fall over enough in bare feet (sad but true, I am a clumsy oaf!!).
ReplyDeleteLove all your colourful photos. This time of year just kind of highlights the colours, don't you think? When it's really hot and sunny, things seem hazy and colours are dulled - or that's how I feel.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your pics and the steps video :o)
Have a lovely evening and Sunday xxx
your cats are... so so cute!
ReplyDeleteso many gorgeous glimpses into your weekend
ReplyDeletelove the kitties, the ladybird, the conical snail, the browns, the dryness, the light and the photographer
