nothing better than lots of colors for cheering up the grey autumn days ! Yesterday I did post two other entries over at the dyeing blog. One was about solar dyeing with vitis vinifera (aka grape), and the other was about hot dyeing with sambucus ebulus (aka danewort, an herbeceaous species of elder).
today's colour at POPPYTALK'S AUTUMN COLOUR WEEK is yellow. So here are my contributions.this last photo shows the textile bracelet/wrist cuff I made on Sunday afternoon. It was such a thrill to start using the dyed fabrics. This yellow one was dyed with fennel, and is silk, though it kind of lost its shine by being overheated. (oops) The Bohemian crystal beads will compensate this lost of shine ! It's not available anymore though. (in case you'd wonder) The floral fabric is Liberty of London, and it is lined with salvaged black corduroy.
ok, off I go, girls ! Take care !

you are worth far more than your weight in golden yellows
ReplyDeletePerhaps you have already answered this question earlier, in that case forgive me for asking but I am curious: what inspired you to dye fabric, what made you start dyeing?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And the cuff turned out beautifully. I think the silk texture is nice.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue of the sambucus ebulus! And I want ginkgo leaves! :-)
