in response to Jane's comment in my last post, I have to say that everything is fine, perfectly fine actually, there was no saddness at all in my words. These days, I'm a night blogger, most of the time it happens between 11 & 12pm, and by this time, as you can guess, I'm pretty tired, like everyone of us. That's why most of my blog posts have hardly any (interesting) content & most of the time lots of photos that I "cut & paste" from Flickr. Because I can't do much more than that, most days.today is the last day of school before half term / autumn break (callitwhatyawant) begins, tonight. Can't believe that two months have already come & gone since school started, my goodness. My three guys've been having a cold (or more) these days ... thank goodness (plllllease quick knock on wood for me, girls) I still haven't caught anything, so I can take care of everyone at once. But all the walks to/from school, as much as it is good sport, is really tiring, and the school rhythm is too. I am SO looking forward to this short break in the daily rhythm ! This past week, getting my carcass out of this warm, comfy, cozy bed of mine has been a real struggle ! aaaagh ! (yes, you can laugh !!)
looking around me, I see lots of small or big WIPs (work in progress), which is so good ... but I also see mess EVERYWHERE (yes, yes, no kidding, mess, in every single possible place & even in places you couldn't even think mess could spread !). Tsk tsk, not SO good. In order to get my ideas clear and neat & my place back in order, I need to work on that during this break.
clear
clean
declutter
sort
(re-)organize
throw/give/repurpose
and then, feel better
yes, always the same thing ... I know, it really sounds like déjà vu, right ?
but before I start doing this serious autumn big clean (um, of MY corners only, hey guys, I'm no wonderwoman !!!), would you let me spread one more time on the kitchen table & craft a bit, wouldn't you ?and create some pincushion goodness with vintage (floral + plain linen)& eco friendly (kapok + handmade wooden buttons) materials ...aaaah, that's better. Amongst very busy days like yesterday, I'm happy I managed to make something good & crafty happen !
ok, then I'll bid you all byebye until Monday. Or early if I'm inspired to do so. If weather allows, we'll go to the botanical garden tomorrow, to enjoy the autumn colors while they're still there.now, will you be gentle with yourself, and as soon as you can, get your lovely carcass on the sofa, with something nice to read or to listen to, and something tasty to drink :) You ALL deserve it !

What a pretty pincushion and I adore those buttons. Even when your tired and busy you still manage to create something beautiful! I hope you have a restful holiday x x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pincushion and photos Sonia!
ReplyDeletei love the pincushion. so cute!
ReplyDeleteOooo I LOVE that vintage flora fabric. I'm trying to get started on my first quilt - It has been so hard to find the time to just get everything set up to do the actual forming of the pieces. IF I ever do get started, I'll be able to show people what I'm doing too! lol The laugh is because I am the "least" crafty/talented person I know when it comes to the beautiful things you all do. Hope springs eternal - so glad you are okay. Enjoy your break and the gardens... things that make us go ahhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteThat floral fabric is to die for, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHalf term starts here today too :O)
Tell me about mess! Argh. I am sick of it. I keep sifting through little Danger Zones, and yet the place still looks like a total dump. Well, to me, anyway.
When I saw your last photo, my heart stopped! The creeper on our house is the same, and of course, the exact same shade or red. I thought 'When did Sonia get a pic of our house'! ha ha ha! :o)
Love, love, love the cloud photo. My favourite sky - pink!
Have a gorgeous weekend xxx
Oh I so understand taht half terms are made for rest and sorting. I have a plan to get my home all clean and tidy over the weekend so that I can do my work throughout the week. Half term is here! Enjoy x
ReplyDeleteyou can spread your gorgeous messes all over the world if you want to
ReplyDeleteit would only beautify it
really truly
Hi Sonia1 How nice that you have an autumn break. How long is it? We have no school breaks until the 4 days for Thanksgiving in November and then finally- Winter/Xmas break for 2 weeks in mid-December. Hope you stay sterong and fight off the colds and maybe sleep in a little? ;) (((Hugz)))
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice messes. That fabric is so, so pretty, is it a French flea market find? I would love to have a whole holiday just browsing your flea markets (and eating good food and visiting friends of course!)
ReplyDeleteI love that you get to see that wonderful virginia creeper wall outside your window, I hope the wind stays calm so the leaves stay with you for a long time. Hope your boys keep their sniffles to themselves and all feel better soon. Jx
I can relate Sonia! I just got my files organized, so that made a very small dent in the clutter. Hope you get some rest this weekend and on your break.
