a little trip to Hyde Park where summer is in full bloom, but where squirrels may find that it's been unseasonnably warm & dry (for England, I mean). The second photo could have been taken in early autumn, don't you think ?playing UNO helps filling some blanks when we're back in the hotel room, by the end of the afternoon ... oh, and this was our hotel, btw. (Hotel Russel)I'm really inspired by the beauty of the many stained glasses I see everywhere. (this one was in our hotel)
a short trip to Covent Garden, where I'm looking for a shop I used to go ages ago, but which apparently closed. (I'm talking about Past Times, and after a bit of research, it closed in London, but still exist in many other towns)
and in the evening, hubby's happy to be able to follow on TV the last day of the British Open

today we're going to a special place. The kind of place that needs a special trip of itself. I could seriously spend a whole year carefully looking at everything. I'm talking about the Victoria & Albert Museum.strawberry icecream & raspberry sorbet helps us staying cool, it's so hot today ! One last trip to Liberty (for a dear friend) and we had to walk back to the hotel because the underground station at Oxford Street was overcrowded & had been closed. A little stop by a local Mark & Spencer, to get something to make a picnic of, and back to the hotel we go. Picnic in Russel Square (facing our hotel) and it's time to pack all of our bags, as we're leaving London for the countryside tomorrow ...
OK ... now back to today, August 01st (whaaaaaat ??! August already ?! what the ?!?!)
I have actually managed to sew the 196 jam jar covers today (for Terrain, see previous post) ... but omg my back hurts now. I calculated & I had one cover made every two minutes. Of course, while I was at pressing them (before shipping them), I ironed 3/4 of the huge pile (equalling 4 loads of laundry for 4). Two more loads of laundry were washed today, so this was not a second a relaxing Sunday for me ! (neither for hubby who took care of the boys all day long)I made 4 extra ones, just in case, and I was right, because there is always slight imperfections.
oh, I meant to thank you all so much for your sweet sweet words about this order for Terrain. Yes, that's such a neat opportunity, even if it gives me a lot of work in very short amount of time. You are quite an awesome bunch of cheerleaders, girls !! :D
I will be adding new items to the shop tomorrow, if you're interested.
I'm so late with replying emails & returning visits that I better go now. I hope your weekend was lovely !

196 !!! You're such a star, fantastic !
ReplyDeleteMore fun images from your trip. That video is taken from one of my favourite spots, I'm happy you all enjoyed it there too.
And BTW, two loads of laundry done too... just change your name to Wonder Woman, I bet you could make some nice cuffs for a WW costume (wait, did they have Wonder Woman in France?)
superwoman for sure
ReplyDeletesupersweetwoman absolutely
super talented London tour guide!!!
I love everything about this post
I do wish I could put you on my porch, feet up on a soft cushion and offer you a cold drink and some delicious cupcakes.
Now that would be the perfect end to such a productive day.
