this and that

I could name all of my blog/diary posts "this & that", don't you think ? I always seem to be talking about many different things & never focus on one only.

I'm going to spend the whole afternoon at the dentist's (joy !) so I'm blogging before going there.

I wanted to thank you all, "old" and new readers. I am ô so very happy to read all of your comments ! Welcome to the new readers, I hope you'll enjoy your time here everytime ! Thank you for taking time to stop by & say hello, I do appreciate that you take time to say you were here, or to leave a reaction after something I said or showed. Don't be shy, if you stop by here & never say you did, please make yourself at home & let me hear your voice ! This is my place, but I love to share it with you all, girls from around the world !!!

one thing though, is that I must tell you that I can't possibly return the visits. Blogging, keeping my Flickr, Twitter & Etsy up to date all the time, plus visiting some friends, is the maximum I can do online. I WISH (oh boy I DO WISH) I had longer days, so that I could return the visits ! So please don't take it personally, but I can't spend more time at the computer than I already spend everyday. I hope you all understand. I do my best, but I'm not perfect & haven't found yet the magic wand that stretch the hours.

this photo below was taken yesterday evening, after lunch, from the sofa, when the sun was giving its last rays, and was peeking through the big trees we have in front on our building. It was so beautiful, so simple, it had a very Asiatic feeling to it, like a Japanese zen garden, or like The Great Wave off Kanagawa (神奈川沖浪裏), a famous woodblock print by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. (葛飾北斎) Of course, you need a good dose of imagination for seeing that in these shadows !(eheh)

I made a little arrangement with the fossils I found last Saturday (May 29th). Half of them are broken pieces, and the other half are entire fossils, some are of a medium size, and some are really (and I really mean TINY) ones. Have a look :

of course you would see them much better on my Flickr. (simply click the photo you want to see)

I should figure what to bring at the dentist's while I'll be waiting (embroidery doesn't seem a bad choice) Oh, btw, the Rosa canina embroidery I started yesterday afternoon is already finished, and I hesitate about how to use it. I have several ideas but I don't know which one is best.

have a wonderful first day of June, everyone !! :)

  3. Your fossil collection is fantastic! I too collect fossils - and shells - and rocks - and minerals!
The internet is quite amazing - my sister introduced me to this blog: teaspotnyc.blogspot.com where I found this blog: bonbonoiseaudesign.blogspot.com where I found this blog and bought two photographs: resurrectionfern.typepad.com and discovered that she was in a show with this blog hellejorgensen.typepad.com which I had been following for quite some time!
    Very inspiring all of them!

  6. hope the dentist visit wasn't too bad :O) you are certainly a busy bee Sonia.

Well, I've left this visit until the last moment in case the Blogger glitch happens again (happened with CR today too, which is why I know it's Blogger's problem), and now I am too tired to stay any longer! I've been busy today and need to close my eyes.

Have a lovely evening - what's left of it. Lovely fossil picces. xxx

  7. Great fossils there, i will have to show my little boy them as his grandad just gave him a load of fossils that I found with my Dad as a child and he is fascinated by them.

  8. I just love all the collections you have, and how you photograph them, Sonia. Very striking. I hope all went well at the dentists.

I am very much like you, there just isn't enough time. I have had to kind of give up on Flickr, as much as it breaks my heart. I can just about keep up with my blog and my shop. There is no more time left. I wish it was different.
    Sending hugs x

  10. I really understand about not being able to read/comment others blogs. I have way too many and I will probably never catch up. I try, though. I've been reading your blog a while, but I don't know if I ever commented before. I don't comment too often because of time.
