spring stormy rains

after such a hot & sunny week last week, this past night's & today's weather are quite a shock indeed. We wore tank tops & flip flops last week & today I was obliged to take the winter coats out, as well as my turtle necks ! wow

hubby left early for work & I brought both boys to their respective schools. (yes, next year they'll be in the same) All the pavements & streets were covered with leaves & buds (coming from the numerous London planes we have here)

picked for me, but left for the snail

I love rain, specially when I'm in the warm comfort of my home (ahah). Seriously, I love rain, I love going to bed with the sound of the rain flick flocking on the roofs. But rain in the city when you are constantly by foot is far less interesting. We live on top of a hill, with slipery stone streets ... then we're obliged to walk on pavements next to a road with big traffic & big water puddles. No good marriage. But, oh well, it has to be like that. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but sometimes it can be really tough specially when the rain is heavy. (and comes with wind)

yesterday U's teacher was ill & the person who usually replaces her was also ill, so I kept him home. He worked & played at home, we had a little stroll in the morning (where we met Mr Snail pictured on the photo above) & in the afternoon we both went to the optician to have new glasses picked & ordered. Mine should be ready tonight, so tomorrow I shall have new glasses ! YAY !! Little one's will be ready next Tuesday, as well as P's, who went to the optician with hubby, after school. Yes, three new pairs of glasses, ouch is saying Mr Wallet. But when such things have to be done, they have to be done !

well, better go now. I have lots to do before going to pick them, in a teeny bit more than an hour. (whaaat ? already ?!! sigh) I wish you all a more serene weather than ours, and a lovely Tuesday too !

I hope to have hubby share his quiche recipe with me so I can share it with you tomorrow.

oh, just to prove you how weird is our weather, my friend Anna, who is even southerner than me, is getting lots of snow today ! Silly !!!

oh, and to keep an eye on the weather & temps we're having here in Montpellier, you can look here.

  1. I agree so much, rain at night is so cosy and lovely.

Our weekend weather has been bonkers, even for England. Constant rain, very blustery wind, amazingly cold temperatures. Really, really cold.Last week it was sunny and quite warm at times,so it turning colder was a shock.

I hope you are having a good start to the week. I'm all upside down.A day behind because of the bank holiday, and the house is not my own this week either, which feels very strange.

Must dash. muffins yesterday looked very scrummy!

  2. The weather is bonkers isn't it - I just put the winter coats away and then have to get them out again! Loving the snail photo - so cute.
