mauve (or purple) is today's color for Poppytalk's Spring Colour Week.
well, yet again, except for a handful of wildflowers, it appears that I don't craft a lot in purple, not can find it in my home easily. Oh well. Let me try to find photos ...For the anecdote, this purple pincushion was the first I ever made, back in April 2009, almost a year ago. I wonder how many I made since the first one.
out of focus
probably inspired a bit by Martha (over at UniformNatural) & her color studies, I wandered, camera in hand, around the appartment, this morning, then later by the end of the afternoon. This is what I came up with. I really enjoy the abstract side of these photos. (some being more abstract than others, I agree)Believe me, I had way too much fun taking these photos today, I guess the set I created today over on Flickr, may grow along the days ! When I was young(er), I really didn't enjoy abstract art at all, but now I can feel I am enjoying it more each day. Probably that getting right into the process of abstraction (via taking these photos, for instance) helps you feeling it better. (my opinion, of course) But again, you may or may not enjoy abstraction.
yesterday the boys were home (off school on wednesdays) so all in all, craft never happened, once again. I don't know how I'm managing time this week, but obviously I must be doing something wrong. And of course, these moments, I have lots of things going through my mind ... nothing really clear ... inspirations & ideas mixing and giving birth to ideas I haven't had yet (!!) ... oh boy, my head's too full these days. I need to express one way or another. Maybe this lack of time for crafting is a way for my brain to tell me that I haven't reflected enough, and that things must brew some more before being ready.
wo knows ??
not even myself ! the irony !

Stunning colours Sonia. It looks like you enjoyed yourself so much.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I have been struggling with my time managment myself this week (and the weeks before) There always seems to be something going on, or something that needs to be done. This week I have little Julia home from school. Not doing well at all with a terrible cough and head cold.
I hope you will find time, and give 'birth' to all your ideas. It is a joy to see you grow.
Annaxx
:o) having a quick catch up. Must go back and look at your recent snow piccies too.
ReplyDeleteI am with you with the blancing. It's tricky. I've been busy this week doing all that needs to be done, walking with little one, running the home, and done nothing for myself. I thought that when I stopped blogging I'd have a lot more time for myself, but not the case yet! Still need to work on the blancing act!
Loving your yellow photos. The buttercup with creepy crawlie and chipped paint are my favourite. Love the crocus photos in todays post too :o)
Have a lovely afternoon doing your dyeing :o) xxxxx
Wonderful colors going on here, really loving the out of focus/abstract ones lots and lots!
ReplyDeleteIm finding this week I have the time but not the energy! how unfair! wouldnt it be great to have a week with lots of time and the energy (and money) to complete any project you wanted! cant complain really Im very lucky to have any creative time at all! best wishes for the rest of the week xx jenny
Such pretty purples. I've been having that same muddled mind this week. Today I think I'm finally crawling out of it, but the week is almost over!
ReplyDeleteThere's always next week :)
i have had a totally exhausting week
ReplyDeletemy secretary has been away somewhere warm this week and I only have had a few hours of office help each day, otherwise I have been on my own.
Today I realized it was almost the end of week and I had so much left to do. I stayed late in the office. On the way home I decided the best way to clear my mind and relax was to pour myself a glass of cold beer ( ps it is so warm here this week), open all the windows to freshen the air and cook something new for my family. I chose a recipe I liked in a magazine sweet potatoe baked falafel with roasted garlic aioli and tabbouleh. It is almost done and smells delicious.
