I can't believe we're halfway into the weekend already !
It's Saturday 09.10pm & the boys just went to bed. Hubby travelled back home safely & was here yesterday around noon. This was the view he had from his room, at San-Martino-di-Lota. (02.03.10, 07.05am)Lovely, right ? Too bad he couldn't take advantage more of the surroundings, he worked everyday 08pm-07pm. But, wow, what a gorgeous view, with the island of Elba in the far background.
My mom went back to her own home yesterday afternoon too. This morning we went to the bookstore, to the art supply shop & to Godiva, and had a little weekend treat, I must admitt.Hubby cooked mashed butternut squash, and while cutting it, he noticed that it was perspiring its own water & that it was beautiful, so I obliged & took a pic. I also thought it was beautiful to see. Then both him & I made a dye with the juniper oxycedrus cones we had picked almost two weeks ago. It's now dyeing in a bucket overnight & we'll see how it turned tomorrow.I foresee a light yellow tone.
I forgot to show you what I made on Friday. I finished a pair of strawberries for a dear "old" friend of mine. And also made the first pincushion of a new series. I was bored with the rectangle shape, and decided to go square with round corner. (so far, we'll see if I like them all this way) This one is 09x09cm, and was filled with kapok, a natural fiber from kapok tree. It is a good & earth-friendly alternative to polyfill.I named it "Nancy Ann", as it's the name of the Liberty of London print I used.
Speaking of London, this afternoon we booked our hotel rooms for the 1st week of our trip to the England next July. Also rented a car for the 2nd week. And are searching for a great place to stay for that 2nd week.
Tomorrow we'll be at my inlaws', celebrating Grandmothers' Day. I so wish my grandmothers were both here now too. They passed away in Dec 1998 & Feb 1999.
OKiiie girls. I must go now. I haven't crafted at all today, and hope to do a little bit tonight, despite the fact that I'm tired. Wishing you all a lovely (rest of your) weekend !
