It's raining today. I won't complain too much, it hardly rains over here. Our region is said to get 300 days of sun each year. So you get the idea ... there are way more sunny days than rainy days. But when it rains, it usually pours ...
It started to rain yesterday evening, and as I'm typing, it's 11.10am & it hasn't stopped yet. I've been taking things easy today, cleaning a bit my bookmarks, browsing a bit yummy crafty blogs, ironing a bit, washing dishes a bit, drinking coffee twice ... and taking a bit of photos from my windows.
Facing our building, on the living-room/kitchen side of the appartment, there is an administrative building, with a very small private garden, where a couple of old trees grow. Including bamboos. Really, I love these bamboos. They're always green, there's always foliage, and in winter, you won't deny it's much appreciated. And when it rains, the rain going through the many many leaves makes a very soothing sound ... I can hear it a bit through the windows, but for sure I wish it wasn't that cold & that I could open the windows & enjoy this sound. I know, spring will come, and this will be possible in a couple of months, I'll just have to wait a little bit.
It feels a bit like Asia today. Don't you think it's a exotic way to travel for free, on a rainy day, at least in your mind ?
I hope you're having a lovely kind of day, no matter the weather you're having. We can always be happy if we want to. Beauty is everywhere, waiting for us to notice it. Even from the window of your kitchen.

It does look like a bit of Asia in your photos! I don't think we're going to got lots of rain this year. El NIno is coming!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm longing for Spring too Sonia! Can't wait to spend time in the garden. It's bitterly cold here at the moment, cold enough for snow.
ReplyDeleteThat bottom photo is superb with the rain coming down in lines like that!

We are in the middle of a snow storm as I write this. Where I live the school is open no matter how much snow we have, so the kids never get a snow day. All of your green makes me more than just a bit jealous... it is white... gray and cold outside. We are expecting at least 30.5 cm of snow on the ground, and maybe more.
ReplyDeleteI can say I love today's post more than just a little bit... all of it was sooo lovely. Thank you Sonia. Hope you are having a great day. Hope U is sleeping well also. Take care dear friend. xxxxxx
