recharging batteries

Busy days, busy weeks, busy months ... you think it's over, but it's not. Lots of things to do, at home or elsewhere, and you're always running from one point to another, from one chore to another, from one illness to another. And this is not supposed to stop. Hubby will be away (again) most of the week next week, in Corsica (again), my MIL will come to stay with the boys & me, but I suppose, as she's still recovering from H1N1, will be more of an extra child to take care of, rather than a help. But oh well, it's better this way than the other. I'm gonna miss my man, though. He's been working a lot, I tell you. His work is not physical, it's intellectual, but he's doing many other things to make it possible to live here, and keep the life we've chosen to live, and with less income than in Chessy. (different administration, different place ... different income, that's how it goes) He does extra works to make everything possible & I am so very thankful for that & appreciate all the efforts he makes, everyday.

So, this break, today, was way more than needed. Vital.
Recharging batteries. Cutting from daily routine. It did us so good.
We went to the beach (the same beach we went one month ago). And enjoyed every minute.
It was sunny, cold & windy. I think we used three packs of tissues, but nevermind, it was perfect. There was hardly noone, so we almost had the beach for ourselves.
Talk about bliss.

The boys played in the sand, building pyramids & mastabas. (yes, saying that my 5 1/2 y-o U is passionate about Ancient Egypt is very weak word) They picked stones & threw them back to the water. And also collected some to take back home.

Like I did. I picked sooooo many stones. Some to keep, and many to give to friends. So, imagine a second the number of sea stones I've carefully looked at today .... hundreds ? Thousands maybe ! I may be squinting because of that ! LOL

The sea was of a lovely blue & green color. I still can hear the soothing sound of the waves withdrawing through the stones on the beach .... aaaah, I could have stayed forever there, if only it hadn't been that cold, ah ah !

Let me share now photos & videos from today. I hope you all will enjoy. I know that not everyone has access to the sea or the ocean, so these are for you !

  1. sometimes you just need to escape to a place where the cobwebs and thoughts can be blown away from your mind.

You've had such a busy 6 months + Sonia. Your hubby too. Not surprised you both just need to get away and recharge. A great idea :o)

    Have a happy, cosy Sunday :O) x

  3. Lovely way to recharge your batteries, can't think of anything better! There's something so calming about the sea. And sorting through the pebbles and taking pics must have been very therapeutic for you. What a satisfying day for you all!

  5. Listened to the ocean washing against the shore several times. Love the coast - nothing like the sounds and smells to re-energize you. We don't have stones like the ones shown here - the only place I've seen them like that is in the New England area of the USA. Our beaches we go to are in the SouthEast part of the USA and we have soft sand and strips of shells - the stones are quite small. I picked up quite a few like the ones in your pictures in New Hampshire and love looking at them.
