Life is made of daily little victories or little failings, right ? Some days, you really fail at doing some things, but some days, there are indeed little victories. The ones that make you do (for real, or only mentally, where no one can see it), the "yay" sign that people like golfers do when the ball does enter the hole. (I'm sure you can picture Tiger Wood doing this, right ?)
Our little victories, these days, is that we started eating (organic) bee pollen, even the boys. Yes, even the boys. For some of you, it may sound natural or normal, but accepting to eat pollen at 5 & 7, sounds like a BIG victory for hubby & I. I had never eaten pollen before !! It's strong, that's for sure, but the one we bought at the health store is mixed with orange essential oil & wheat syrup (not sure that's the correct name in English), so I think the essential oil is at least as tasteful as the pollen itself.
" Bee pollen contains an incredible array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, co-enzymes, and hormones. It is especially rich in B vitamins and antioxidants, including lycopene, selenium, beta carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, and several flavanoids. It is composed of 55% carbohydrates, 35% protein, 3% vitamins and minerals, 2% fatty acids, and 5% other substances. Overall, it's one of the most nutritionally complete natural substances found on earth. " ( www.bee-pollen-health.com )
Want another little victory ? Hubby made a pumpkin tart (savory, not sweet) & I will share the recipe ASAP. It contained a bit of cumin & a tiny little bit of cinnamon (you could hardly taste it). I would have never told that the boys would have eaten it & asked for more ! Yay ! Another victory ! (note : our boys do eat veggies, even raw, and also sprouted seeds, that's not the point, but they were not too keen on such dishes ... now we know we can introduce them to such tasteful treats are tarts, pie, quiches, and so on ..... it's going to be fun !!)
Oh, btw, I just added a new doodle to | swirls and lines |. It's countryside themed & I hope you will enjoy it. I wanted to add it before we leave tomorrow evening, after the boys go out of school, to go to my parents', where we'll be all weekend.
And last but not least, I managed to make a pincushion today, which I am off to add to the shop after I'm done with this post.
It's made of a Liberty of London print (Capel, in pink - I have re-embroidered some of the print details), linen, cream crochet lace that I re-embroidered, and the back is a cream cotton with raspberry pink polka dots. The button is wooden & comes from Nurtured Earth (on Etsy) and is made from reclaimed wood.
If I don't manage to post until Sunday evening, then I wish you all a fantabulous weekend ahead ! Stay warm & have fun ! :)
