Remember when I told you, last November (ahem), that I was going to get a free camera ? Well, I should have gotten it early enough to put it under the Christmas tree. Well, uh, it didn't happen ! I had to make the drawing of a camera & wrap it, otherwise there wouldn't have been anything for me there. (I'm a big girl, but it still pinched my heart a bit) Hubby told me to wait until mid-January, maybe there were problems because of the holiday season. (yep, we're too understanding) He decided to phone them last Friday, and they told us that the camera wasn't available anymore (couldn't have contacted us to let us know, uuuuugh ??! nope) The lady on the phone proposed him another camera, which he accepted, and we got it delivered yesterday.
So now I have to teach myself to use it, which shouldn't be that difficult. I just bought a new SDHC (memory) card (4GB, while I used to have a 1GB in the current camera) Can't wait to start shooting with this little baby !
I've been having two good weeks of crafting, with lots of custom orders (yeepie !) Some were simply jam jar covers, and another order was two embellished (large) Moleskines for my friend Laurraine, who gave me fabric/color choices, a few instructions/wishes, but left me freedom, which I totally adored ! (thank you so much my friend !) Here are the results :
I still have a custom order in the process, but mainly because it's hand-embroidery oriented. (following photo was taken last Saturday)
Hubby left this afternoon to go to Corisca (tomorrow only, can you believe it ?). He's still having his sinus infection, so he really would have prefered to skip that, but he couldn't. :( So he left around 5pm by train to go to Marseille, then he'll have to take a shuttle going to the airport, where he'll have to take a plane. Good grief, so much time spent in transports, for one day only. Thank goodness my mom came today, this way she can spend time with the boys, and help me too. She's staying until Saturday afternoon.
Better go. I hope you're having a great middle of the week. Much love to all

I hope you enjoy your new camera. You are such a good photographer.
ReplyDeleteThe Moleskines look great! I'm thinking of jazzing up a couple for a friend's birthday.

I think we have the exact same camera now Sonia! I love it. It's so good for getting close ups from a distance if you see what I mean. The butterfly on a flower I took last year was so good when I downloaded it, all down to the camera and nothing to do with me. :O)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today. FB seems to be killing off blogging, it's such a shame. I didn't stop by Cherry's site at all last year, so I had no idea of the trauma she'd been through. When I saw her on Twitter and found out all that had happened and that now she was expecting twins, I felt so much for her. What a horrible year she had. I wish her much luck and happiness with her twins. She really does deserve a change of luck now :o)
Your sewing is amazing. So neat and tidy, mine is always a total mess close up!
Hurrah to hubby being home today. I should think he'll be worn out. Hope you can all have a lovely and relaxing weekend. lots of love xx

my husband was in Corsica quite a few years ago and loved the island
he still remembers how wonderful it smelled there with all the wild fragrant herbal bushes that are native there
he also couldn't forget about the tintin comic about the island.
