Activity Advent Calendar, Day 22: Making shadow play puppets.
That was fun. This is what we use : black thick paper, glue, scissors, white pencil & wooden sticks (I had picked some last year in Starbucks, shhh).

I had cut in half A4 size sheet of black thick paper. They traced with the white pencils, they started to cut, then I helped them cutting them & adding details with a tiny punch and a cutter. Then I glued them to the wooden sticks. Ta da !

The results are rather lovely ...

U's shadow puppets

P's shadow puppets

My own version ... ahah, moms gotta have fun, right ?!
If you like papercuts, you will love { this animation } by the ever talented Rob Ryan. (dated Dec 21st)
Speaking of paper, I wanted to share the very simple idea for new year's cards. I had to send two NY cards, so I had to imagine it and make it with what I had on hand. I only used 4 different stamps & a black ink pad.

OK, gotta go now. I hope you're all doing fine, and enjoying these last days before Christmas. It's been pouring all afternoon, over here ... thankfully we went shopping for food this morning ! (both for Christmas day AND after ... so that we won't be in the crowd in the shops right after Christmas and right before NY celebration)
Stay warm & cozy, my friends
Take good care

Oh, love the paper cutouts! My son and I like making paper cutouts too... in fact, I think scissors has to be Alex's favorite toy. And thanks for the Rob Ryan link-- it's going to become a must-follow blog for me. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the cute drawing on your header. And the paper cuts are fabolous. Perfect as kids activity (and mummys).
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Merru Christmas and a wonderful 2 thousand & 10!
I meant Merry, of course and fabulous. Seems my spelling skills flew out the window...
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Buon Natale & Felice Anno Nuovo, cara Sonia! A big hug and gingerbread kisses to you all! :)
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful idea Sonia. I bet the boys had great fun.
ReplyDeleteWell, our snow is still hanging around, but not for much longer. The rain has just started to fall, so either way it'll be a cold, grey and wet Christmas! Luckily all of our shopping is done too.
Well, time I was off. Have a very Happy Christmas. :O) x
