Activity Advent Calendar, Day 12: Making cinnamon scented salt dough ornaments
Can you tell it was messy & lots of fun for the boys ?!! Ah !
It's been the first time I've made salt dough with the boys (shaking head with shame ...) so I can't say if they'll be great or not, or if they'll crack or something. This is the recipe I used :
1 volume fine salt + 2 volumes flour + 1 voume water + a good dash of grounded cinnamon (+ a bit of flour or water to have the right consistency)
We made a hole in them & will wait for days now for them to get totally dry & ready to hang.
I hope you're having a nice, cozy, relaxing weekend. It's getting dark as I'm typing this, and thankfully, a little colder ... it's 08.5°C / 47.3°F right now (05.20pm), and the highest today was 12.5°C / 54.5°F while the highest two days ago was a VERY unseasonal 18°C / 64.5°F !!!! How can you possibly think it's December with such temps ?!!

Hi Sonia! These are probably fun to make with little ones! Shame on me, I don't make much crafts with them, I need to change this situation...they are a bit hyper and usually ends in tragedy. Fights, cryings...whatever! I think will try this recipe! Stay warm and cosy!

If you're in a hurry you can microwave them for a couple of minutes to dry them out - we did this the other day. Admittedly we did leave them overnight after that because we ran out of decorating time, but the microwave treatment worked a treat!
