{ Starting to add touches }

I won't deny, I have started decorating for the holidays. I'm one of these crazy people who start by the middle of November, and then a couple of days after Christmas day, take everything down & get the home ready for the new year, just like you make a clean slate.
The weather has been gloomy this weekend, so sure it helped quite a bunch. No rain, but simply dark & cozy. Perfect. So I took decorations that were gifted by friends last year ... just seeing them again after a whole year spent in a box made me smile & it still makes my heart smile too.

I also took the fairy lights out of their boxes (believe me or not, but these were bought in 1998 in London, with at that time hubby-to-be) & installed them on top of the (all dusted & cleared) top of my creative space's shelves. All the things that were there moved to different places. And as my creative space is located in one of the living-room's corner, then all living-room has a very festive atmosphere now !

I also gathered all winter and Christmas themed children books & DVDs in a big rectangle basket near the TV & a very comfy armchair.

I also made a very very quick & very very easy papercut for the windows of the hall leading to the toilets & bathroom (they had thin curtains but no shutter) as I realized that now, with darker days, once the light is on, our neighbors can see us through the curtains ... ahem. So this was a super quick project that got accomplished in no time. I just wished I had had larger sheets of paper so that I would have filled the whole surface, but nevermind, I'm happy with this, and I'll make some others to cover a little more of these windows and the ones of the bathroom. (please note that our lights are not that yellow ! LOL)

What else did we do this past weekend ? Well, staying home sure helped being a little productive ... we ate our first homegrown lentils sprouted seeds & it was a hit !! We already started other ones (lentils) and also sunflowers sprouted seeds. We can't wait !

I kept my hands busy this weekend (couldn't be happier about that !) I completed a custom made little girl's wrist cuff, a set of jam jar covers, a lavender strawberry (after handcarving a small heart stamp, I got inspired to use it) ... and I am almost done with an embroidered pincushion that is part of a private swap ... and started a gingerbread biscuit ornament.

So you think I'm ready for the holiday season ? I don't think so. This week I really (and I mean REALLY !) have to find :

1) what my Christmas / Holiday cards will look like (and start making them after I will have decided who will be getting them this year)

2) which gifts to handmake for hubby, my parents & my inlaws. May be a mix of handmade & gift basket with yummy organic goodness.

OK, I think this is going to be a pretty busy week ... so I wish you a great, productive, creative, healthy, fun one, my friends. Stay well & happy !
