♥ 4 (caramel and cream) candies
Now, let me please share with you another (yes, another !) yummy recipe, coming, this time, from my mother. It's a delicious Blueberry Tart, mmm ...

BLUEBERRY TART
serves : 6 persons
ingredients :
- 1 ready made (or make your own !) sweetcrust pastry roll (pâte sablée pour les francophones !)
- 200 g fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon crème fraiche (note : not sour cream !)
- 125 ml milk (1/2 cup)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (cater sugar, blonde sugar ...)
- the zest of one lemon (organic is preferable !)
- optionnal : 1 tablespoon fine semolina, only if you use frozen blueberries
Preheat your oven at 180°C/350°F.
Lay your pastry roll in a tart/pie pan. Cover with a length of parchment paper, and add something like 100g of rice or dry beans over the sheet of parchement paper. Bake for 10mn. (this way the pastry will be pre-baked). Get it out of the oven. Remove the beans/rice & parchement paper.
If you use frozen blueberries, sprinkle the semolina over the pre-baked pastry now. Then add the blueberries (and skip the semolina stage if you use fresh blueberries).
Remove the zest of one lemon, and put it in a jar. Mix in the cream, milk, sugar & egg. Mix well, and pour over the blueberries.
Bake for 20mn at 180°C/350°F. Let it cool down, it'll be better. And you're as greedy as us, you can sprinkle a little sugar on top, it'll be a bit crunchier ! That's all !

OK, so now let me wish you all a very good luck for this last little giveaway of the week. I can tell you sincerely that it was even more fun for me than you could imagine ! I won't miss the opportunity to make a similar "Giveaway Week" before Christmas, with, hopefully, a little more handmade goodies. At any rate, I'll keep this idea in mind & will work on it the next couple of months !
I'll announce the names of the winner, each day, as planned. Monday will be announced the name of the winner of Monday's giveaway, and so on ...
Now, everyone, have yourself a lovely, cozy weekend ahead. Enjoy the ones you hold dear, and the little things in life. Now just let me quote June Allyson & Peter Lawford in Good News movie ...
The moon belongs to everyone
The best things in life are free
The stars belong to everyone
They cling there for you and for me
The flowers in spring
The robins that sing
The sunbeams that shine
They're yours, they're mine
Love can come to everyone
The best things in life are free
Hi Sonia
ReplyDeleteI'm a long time reader but very slack commenter!
I love reading about your little slice of French life though.
We are spending a year in Adelaide at the moment but looking forward to moving back home to our usual nest in Hobart on the beautiful island of Tasmania in December. I'm a student (with a thesis due on Oct 6 eek).
I like to crochet, make softies for my daughter and occasionally get inspired to sew a bag.
Thanks for another lovely recipe!
Finally, I'm not the 1st commenter anymore, whew LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blueberry tart recipe. As we don't have blueberries here in the tropics I can probably substitute mangoes?
It's always a joy to visit your blog. I feel so right at home! Thanks for being YOU!
OH BOY! I must try that blueberry tart! Thanks so much for the recipe :o) I can't believe it's day 5 already... I started working on the 2nd issue of Quilter's Connection Magazine tonight. Back to the grind! Hugs, L
ReplyDeleteGreat recipe... I think I've got a pretty similar one from my Mom but I want to try this one too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea, a week of giveaways! If I ever start blogging I'll keep this in mind :).
I wish you a lovely weekend with you loved ones... we'll be having a "family day" tomorrow too! Hugs, mervi
Love the poem at the end!
ReplyDeleteAnd love that cute ribbon, and the cookie cutter ... oh, well how nice.
Something else about me ... I love reading. Usually books - but also blogs. :-) And I LOVE traveling, but don't get to do it at the moment ... having a daughter and soon a son and a dog ... but blog reading kinda is like traveling ... meeting new people and reading things from other parts of the world ...
Ciao Sonia, happy Friday! :) Yummy tart, my mom makes a similar one. Here I don't buy blueberries (that I love!) coz they cost a fortune! Well, all fruits cost too much. Can you believe a shop had on sale one fig for 69pences?? Crazy! :/ That red gingham ribbon is adorable! :D Wow! Lovely! Idem for the cookie cutter, I'm so ready for Christmas ;)
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, sweetie! Thanks for the fun! :D
I love this type of fruit or berry tart. My favorite is to use raspberries. Well I have had fun being part of your week of giveaways. I think you already know a great deal about me but my family always jokes about me being on of the most highly educated maker's of things. I am a great source of amusement.
ReplyDeleteHi dear...
ReplyDeleteHow are you? Thanks for sharing all that good things with us. Here in Brazil it is a beautiful day.....It is Spring.... Lets enjoy!
Have a lovely Friday.
Hugs.
Nina

ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting this week. No reason for not posting other than no time - and I KNOW you understand that! Humbug's daytime nap has gone, so the only slice of time I had for myself has gone with it. Never mind! I get more time with her, but not my tiny computer time. :o( I'm sure I'll soon get used to it and find a way to make a bit of time ~ like now for example!
Have a lovely Sunday xxx
