A throat infection (or two) and a wedding

That's what kept me away from the diary & blogland this past week.
Yep, U's had a second throat infection last weekend, and we went to the doctor last Tuesday. He had had temperature for three days. He's been taking antibiotics since then & he's much better, almost totally 100%, thank goodness.

Last Saturday (25th), one of my cousins (boy) got married. It was not very far but obliged us to stay at my parents' for the weekend, so we also went to my inlaws' on Friday. In a word, we've been hardly at home. The very few time I had online, I used it to upload photos on Flickr, so when you check here & find no update, feel free to check my Flickr, because there will be chances that I updated there. It sounds incredible, but time management has been tougher for me this summer than during school year. I suppose that during school time, there is quite a regular schedule, and everyone gets a respective rhythm. Not during summertime. I still haven't received the furniture for my creative space (nothing very fancy, Ikea Expedit shelves - they're 2 weeks late, but now we know we'll get delivered on August 04th) So in the meantime, I don't have a creative space of my own, and can't really craft at all, so it's a bit of weird time in the Craft domain, if you see what I mean. Probably a reason why I started dipping my toes in watercoloring whenever I was at my inlaws'. This is the last one I made, last Friday :Echinacea Purpurea, one of my favorite flowers, and one of the medicinal plants we take in the form on pills, during the autumn & winter.

So on Saturday we attended the wedding of my cousin. We had a nice time, but I was kind of having a mild throat infection myself (thank goodness without any fever), and also my shoes broke (yep, no fun, and we went to buy another pair to the rescue). We left the party at midnight, the boys were already beyond exhausted, but the party itself was not even at the middle, can you believe that ?! Anyway. The comfort of MY children is more important than my cousin, so we left without any regret.I'll write several posts about Montpellier, along the seasons, and along our walks & discoveries. We re-discover a town we in fact knew but only a little. Some things have changed since the years we used to live/study there, but some other things haven't changed, thankfully. For the moment being, we also try to enjoy the new views we have from our windows ... these were taken yesterday evening from our living-room window. Some minutes apart & the colors change so much !I hope last week was a good one for everyone of you. Sorry for being so silent & not visiting as often as I would like to, it's not even intentional these days.
Leaving you with a bunch of hugs & kisses XOXOXO

  1. you have had a busy time recently Soina. I'm sorry for U being unwell. Poor little boy. I'm glad he's on the mend.

Love the photos of you all and of the bride. Beautiful.
I am the same as you and if my little one was too tired, I'd leave too. In fact, I am not going to a wedding reception next month for one of Bill's work colleagues as it clashes with her bedtime and I have no intention of leaving her with anyone else. :O) That's my choice and I am happy with it, because before anything else I am a mummy - my job is to be with her.

Must dash. Things have been topsy turvy here today and I'm only just ironing! Yikes! I've normally had it done long before this time of day.

  2. I loved catching up with you on flickr yesterday and I have to say I am loving your watercolor pictures and the views of this city.
I hope that your son will have an end to his bouts with infection have the throat swabs been positive for streptococci each time?
I might be able to offer a little advice although this has been a very strange year for human microbiology

  3. Good to read your post, the photos are awesome & I love your watercolor. I was wondering if it's my mac or if the photos are never straight. I hope U stays healthy, it's no fun to be sick in summer. Glad you rediscover your city, hugs

une pièce était prévue avec des canapés et la possibilité de mettre des matelas.
dommage de partir au milieu d'un repas payé entièrement pour 4 personnes !!

A piece(room) was foreseen(planned) with sofas and the possibility of putting mattresses.
Damage to leave in the middle of a meal paid completely for 4 persons!!
