Busy weekend

Another weekend, another busy weekend. And lots of photos to share, then. :)

Chris is home (took the day off to go to the dentist's this afternoon) and he needs the computer for working. (in Montpellier he will get a laptop of his own, phew !)

On Saturday we went to Paris. I don't know if it was our last time or not, the boys would love to go to the Palais de la Découverte ONE LAST TIME. How can you refuse such thing to your little ones ?!
The weather was very sunny & very hot this past weekend, which was a bit violent after these weeks of chill, rainy days.
We went to Starbucks' Opéra, then to the Palais Royal gardens, then in the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, then we went to have lunch in Coolin's Irish pub. Then we took the Voguéo (transportation boat on the Seine river), and went to the Parc de Bercy & its vegetable garden, to our own delight. We went to a craft store nearby where I bought stamps, and the boys also bought a box of red Kaplas. (to their own joy !) It was really very hot, and after walking that much, we had to stop to drink a fresh beverage, and to make the inner temperature go down. Much needed. Then we stopped by the French National Library (BNF) & had a pleasant stay there. Probably the last time we stopped by there too.

On Sunday, it was just as sunny & hot. I got lots of housework done. Changed the boys' bed linen, hand washed too, cleaned, made a box or two (can't remember).

Then something not very pleasant happened. After I washed the dishes (after lunch), I also loaded the dishwasher & turned it on. After ten minutes, as I wanted to switch on the light in the hall, I realized that there was no power. I told Chris, he put it on again & then I entered the kitchen. Nightmare, I stepped into a puddle. The pipe of the water that comes into the dishwasher went out of the other pipe where it used to be in, and water went on the power point & made the power cut. We came very close to the catastrophe. Then, for a long moment, and trying our best to keep the boys out of the kitchen, Chris & I mopped & mopped some more, and cleaned, because it wasn't that clean there (ahem) ... of course the dishwasher was full, so we also had to empty it, and then had to empty the pipes. And one thing leading to another, as Chris was lifting the dishwasher a bit so that I could mop under it, and then putting it down on the ground, we unfortunately crushed a part of one of the two pipes. Oh gosh, just like we needed that. We don't know if it's pierced or not, so we'll see that after we'll have moved. :( Then I had to clean the floorclothes & sponges ... and thankfully the sun was strong & it dried in no time.
Then, after all that mess & hard work & stress, we decided to go to Disney to forget our "worries". We had a great time, and maybe it will be the last time we go there before we move. Oh well, I don't know what to say, but lots of little material things are bringing us a bunch of stress & grey hair, blugh. That's life.

On the boxes front, I am now, as of June 15th, 29 boxes (/65) were done. I'm not sure 65 boxes will be filled. Saying that because the movers will wrap the fragile things (dishes & such)

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and a bit less stressful than ours. Um, do I need to tell you that the fridge is giving us signs of weakness ? No ? I don't need to ?! Sigh.

xoxoxo lots of love your way, today & always.

  1. Hi Sonia! Moving is right up there as one of life's most stressful things but at least it's one of those things that will pass. Sorry about the dishwasher fiasco but glad you enjoyed your Disney break. Love all the photos and esp. the cotton candy one. :) Have a great week ahead! (((Hugz)))

  2. Disneyland is great medicine for life's little stresses. It won't be long now and you'll be at the exciting part of unpacking and settling into your new home:)

  3. I often think it would be a wonderful to live a nomadic life and carry everything you own on your back or in a small cart or caravan. My favorite picture is your son peaking out from the mountain of candy floss :)

The cloud picture is pretty amazing too.

Yikes, what a stressful and Hard Work weekend you've had. isn't that always the way though, when you don't need things to go wrong, they do.

I will be so glad for you once your move is all behind you.

Time I was off. Hope your Tuesday is going well, and you have no dangerous dramas this week! xxx
