Now that's a title, isn't it ?!! LOL
Cigale is the French word for "cicada" & is the name of the lastest pincushion I've made & listed to the Shop, which I will be closing from mid-June until probably mid-July, the time for the move & unpacking to be over. (can I say I can't wait, can't I ?)
I've been a little bit crafty these past weeks, but more particularly for gift making for friends. I can show things I have made for two fantastic friends, things that have been shipped & received.

It's a pleasure creating for friends, and I wish my schedule wasn't so tight these days, or I'll be creating all day long ! It's kind of tricky & energy consuming being up to date with laundry, home cleaning, dish washing, two busy boys, an ill husband, shopping for food, packing & box making, making photos (at least for the record), keeping this blog, all the papers & things to do & think of now (before the move) and for after the move ... goodness, I wonder how my head has not fallen from my body yet. And even that busy, I feel OK. Yeah, right, let's say I'll feel awful AFTER the move ! LOL
About security envelopes now. You may remember last January when I posted about making Idea Notes with junk mail envelopes. At that time I didn't know that these envelopes were called "security envelopes". When looking at my Flickr stats (which I do regularly), I stumbled upon a website that was featuring my little idea notes, among other great ideas for re-using security envelopes ! I think you should give a look, it was interesting, and there was also a second post with more ideas !
I have kept lots of them, even after cutting lots of them, and I can't wait to be settled to start creating with these ! (pictured above) And to tell you that I don't re-use only security envelopes, here is a photo of a little note I made with a paper advertisement (from Toast, it came in Country Living mag, UK version), handstamped, and sent it with some of the gifts I've shown you above. I think it's rather cute & again, the possibilities are endless. I only keep the "light" areas of these kind of ads. I hardly buy mags now so this doesn't happen often. And it stamped well because it wasn't glossy paper.
OK, enough said, I have tons to do. Yesterday was a bank day in France, so the boys were off school. Today they're back in school, and Chris, who should have normally gone back to work today, has decided to go see the doctor again (he's not fully recovered & I don't want him to go back even iller in two days, thanks !). Thank you everyone for your caring wishes. His health is improving so slowly.
Have a healthy & busy day today, my friends ! Thanks for stopping by ! oxoxo
PS : I haven't done a single box yesterday, so the number is the same as yesterday (15) I NEED to make one or two today ! LOL

Good morning Sonia! Oh my, your creations are simply adorable, and such sweet gift ideas too :-) I love what you have done with the paper ad too, what an excellent idea! Here's hoping Chris will feel better soon, and a "bon courage" to you and the box-making :-)
ReplyDeleteGros bisou,

ReplyDeleteI guess I never realized cigale was cicada when I was there.I don't think we had (m)any in the north(?)
I will be closing my shop too(vacation mode)-about the same times as yours-isn't it hard?!I can't decide what supplies to pack nor do I really want too ;) procrastinate procrastinate...
I still have things I want to make and should be packing-Oh well
Bonne journee-
Andrea
So lucky are the friends who get to receive your handmade gifts! I love the gray linen sachet with "love" inscriptions! So elegant!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny the things we keep. I keep so many different things it used to really annoy my hubby but now he knows I use it all eventually. At the moment it's juice containers to make boats with my class at school - the empty boxes are taking over the house!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you make with your envelopes, I'm sure what comes of them will be lovely :)
you are bad for my time management Sonia! I had to click on the links and really like the reusing envelope ideas!
ReplyDeleteick to all the packing. I can understand why you aren't getting stuck in. It's tedious, but at least when it's done, it's done!
hoping Chris is continuing to feel better.
xxxx
Thanks for the congratulations, and for drpping by to visit!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all of your crafts. Just gorgeous!
I do hope Chris is feeling a bit better now.
Quick visit today as I'm heading to the park with the kids for a picnic soon. Lots of love to you xxx
Sonia, I love your ideas for reusing! And I loved your post about the idea note cards! Sounds like you are doing so well with packing and everything else that life presents, in spite of all that is going on right now. Things will calm down soon. They really really will! Glad to hear Chris is getting better, even if slowly.
