"Homemaking Thursday" : Let the fun begin !

We got the boxes yesterday ... do I have to add something ?! Let the fun begin ! Please girls help me keeping my smile, and say something silly to me today (and so that everyone will enjoy as well !)

Chris went to the doctor's yesterday & he said he has a bad bronchitis (and btw, a huge thanks for your caring thoughts & wishes) but he'll have X-rays done today in the morning, more particularly because he had a pneumonia last year. I'll keep you posted. But at least, he's under treatment now, and I hope he'll feel better ASAP. He stayed home yesterday & will also today & tomorrow, and as next Monday is a bank day, that will leave him time, hopefully, to recover properly.

OK, nothing much interesting to report, I'm sorry. And I hope my next post won't be in a week from now. Please something silly or funny right now, girls ... please. LOL

Here is a little wisdom for you, while you're thinking about something silly to tell us. xoxoxo sweetest hugs to all, and to all a nice day

  3. Preassemble empty boxes and make them into a fort. Declare yourself King of Packonia!
Arrange the boxes to resemble the Tokyo skyline and then play "Godzilla Attacks."
These are funny...here is a site for Apartment
    jokes of all kinds....even moving.

When we were moving from Japan to the U.S.
Leah had fallen asleep after playing with
the packing boxes ....the movers came and
almost boxed her up... I kept looking for
her everywhere and she was small then.
I had found her in a box with a blanket
over her asleep...and the box had been
folded up already!!!! After that I took the
kids to my husbands parents house so that
they were not in the way.
So we joke with her alot about boxes....
I am sorry that Chris is still feeling
bad, I hope that he feels better before
    Monday.
How about the boys... are they excited about
    the move or not?
Have them color or decorate the boxes for
their room...then when they get to the
new house they will beable to see their
    stuff right away.
Have them color the kitchen or bathroom
    on those boxes too.
Draw on the boxes so that when you stack them
    they look like a Robot.
    Or a train.
Bet how many boxes it takes to use up one roll
of tape.... the winer does not have to clean
    the toilet. hehe!
Bet how many boxes it takes for each room or
over all.... the winer does not have to clean
    the kitchen! LOL!(yeah right)
Have the boys play an American game....basket ball... they throw their socks or other rolled
clothing into the boxes to see who can get the
    most into the boxes.
Well I hope everything gets easier for you
and your family. Chris ....feel better soon.

    Loads of love and care,
    Rane

  5. love your collection photos.

yikes to the packing! I remember doing it myself and it is Hard Work. If it helps, I think you are both organised enough and practiced enough to breeze through it though. :o)

Hope Chris is feeling better and can recover quickly.

I don't have anything funny to say! I've been a bit stressed this morning. Was trying to place an order for birthday cupcakes while Little One bellowed from the other side of the door, and Dudley joined in with loud meowing. Made it hard to hear on the phone! Still, at least the cakes have been ordered and should be nice. :o)
    have a lovely weekend xx

  7. Sonia, I have been trying to think of something funny for you since last night... I guess I am not that funny right now! So instead I send you my love and get well wishes to Chris, and hope your packing goes smoothly and maybe can even fun and therapeutic (remember back when you said to me that it would/could be therapeutic? :) to go through old things, let go, refresh, reorganize? (I paraphrased a little there, but that was close).

I know for myself it helps to decide to have a certain perspective or attitude and then stick to it. If it gets hard again, I stop and take a break, shift and then return to that attitude I decided to stick to. Otherwise it can be harrowing, and that is no fun at all. I wish I could help you. That would be so fun!

  8. Dear Friend, I am sending prayers and get well wishes your way! I hope Chris feels better soon, and that he is able to get through the weekend and coming week feeling ok.

As for silly, this only makes me feel a little silly, but you might appreciate it. When I think about your moving, I sometimes feel a little sad. Silly, I know, but there it is. I have to remind myself that, as we are already thousands of miles apart, it won't change anything!

I've never moved, so I can't say that I know what all this is like for you, but I do hope that the experience ends up being pleasant.

    hugs!
