"Homemaking Thursday" : In honor of Earth Day

OK, I know I'm so super late posting today. But yesterday was an awful mix of a PMSing mama & a duo of evil boys. And it doesn't make the perfect match, I can tell you ! Add to this a purchase mistake from me, and an exhausted papa, and you get a day & evening I could have lived without. Oh well. I've decided to repeat Life Lessons & Rules to the boys & plan to do this as often as I can remember. Yesterday was being good & nice, and respectful. Wow, quite a big one to start, don't you think ? And today was the simple rule (though not always respected by adults) of a Proper Conversation. I talk, and then only, you can talk too or reply. Like a tennis match. Not like a soccer match, where everyone is looking for the ball (= who's speaking) & ends like a big mess !! LOL The lesson I've learnt from such a day (yesterday) is that sometimes there has to be such days to go back to earth & revise your behaviour & way of thinking. Lesson learned. And lessons to be given to the boys. Who said raising children was easy peasy ?!!?! Uh ?!!

Today was much more of a peaceful day, and I made efforts, and the boys made theirs. It was a sunny, glorious day so we decided to walk to Disney & enter the park a bit. We had the most pleasant walk to Disney (we have a 15mn walk) as all fruit trees were blossoming !! That was awesome !This is Malus (Latin name for crabapple)This is a variety of ornamental type of Prunus. (probably peach)Yellow lichen + pink buds = very pretty ! :)

I know Earth Day was yesterday, and I know today's entry is not really "homemaking" oriented, so let's say I'm dedicating this blog entry to Earth Day, which, in the end, the boys & I celebrated today, blowing dandelions, listed to the birds sing, observing lichen & fruit tree blossoms, on our way to Disney. I took a lot of photos, and most of them are on Flickr. We even observed a cicada around a hotel. Its wings were like stained glass !!I hope you all had a nice Thursday, as sunny & pleasant as ours ! oxoxo many hugs your way !

  6. Sonia, that prunus tree is gorgeous! I have not seen any around here but from your photo I can tell. We purchased a red delicious apple tree yesterday to replace an oak tree that died during the winter. I hope it will grow soon and give us beautiful flowers and apples!

Sounds like you are a great momma! They are
still oh so very young and these lessons are
not easy to learn. They have so much to say
and fear that they will not get a chance to
say it before they forget... Why dont
you start them on a Journal... they write
what they want to tell you how they feel
any ideas or thoughts and after dinner you
can read them... together or alone. If they
are mad or proud... at first this is hard
because they are so young... the youngest can
draw his journal, and then tell you what he
drew, at first he will not get what you
ask but he will learn quick!! This is a way
of calming them. If they can not listen to
you and wait to talk just tell them... go
tell me in your Journal so you don't forget
then I will look, it gives them a way of
being close to you too and you can see their
growth and how they learn and change. I have
learned sooooo very much about my kids this
way! And learned things I never knew about
them too! I was surprised. Also if they
confess something they did do not scold so
harshly because you want them to keep telling
you and being honest to you in their
journals. This is a good idea for you to do
too to them. And they can see your Journal
too. Notes to them and ideas.... when they
get older they will love you for this. My
oldest love the Journals we keep.
I hope this helps. Love your photos too!!
Loads of love to you and your beautiful family!
