I'm speaking of the garland I made last evening & listed in the shop at noon ! :D Yeepie, at last something new for the shop ! (don't fall from your chair, though, I wouldn't like you to get hurt !)

Two strawberries are made of natural linen & the "heads" are salvaged denim fabric. The two other strawberries are made of salvaged pink & white gingham cotton, and the "heads" are pink linen. The string that holds them together is organic hemp yarn (that I bought on Etsy) Two flower shaped buttons give a pretty finish touch. It's 56 cm / 22.05" long/high & each strawberry is 4.5 cm / 1.77" long/high. (OK, that's a lot of details, I know) The strawberries are filled with dried wild lavender I picked myself last year. (in southern France) That's why the garland is fragrant. (and boy, that lavender is sweet but powerful !!)
The weather today is rainy & very windy, all of the windowpanes are covered by thousands tiny rain drops, it's beautiful seen from the inside, but outside is not a pleasant place to be ... agh and I have to go to the health store now ... I'm going to be blown away !!! :D
I hope you're all doing fine. Have a super nice & cozy Thursday !! Big hugs xoxo
Mmm, smells like yummy strawberry lavender fields!
ReplyDeleteWonderful work Sonia, I imagine they smell wonderful, and look fabulous. Hope you're warm again now xx
ReplyDeleteOh, I absolutely love the smell of lavender! We have lavender planted along the edge of our patio, and by late summer it smells fantastic! :-) What a lovely idea to let it dry, and even better to fill those adorable little strawberries with it, you are a star ma Sonia!!
