Cold.Free

I don't want to bring myself bad luck saying this, but I haven't had a single cold for months now, while the boys were ill several times since they started school again last September. Not that I never go out. I go to the supermarket almost everyday, and we go to Disney & Paris, where we sure do cross a lot of people. (and their germs too, yuck) Chris already had a light cold like two months ago, but you can't seriously say that he was very ill. Since the start of September, we've been taking pills (food complements, but I'm not sure it's called like this in English, but nevermind). We simply took one pill a day (contrary to the two that were recommended). September was echinacea, October was propolis, November was rose hip, December was echinacea again, and January is propolis again. I cannot confirm you that they have a real & strong effect on our health, but I cannot deny neither that they didn't have any effect. How would you explain that I haven't been ill for these autumn & winter months ? (please please may it NOT bring me bad luck, please please please)

Link-o-Link
I wanted to share the link to a place you probably already know, but that I didn't use to its fullest till some months ago. I'm talking about Big Huge Labs. If you are a Flickr user, you may have already used it for making a mosaic or another tool. But I suddenly found two tools very attractive now we've started a new year & a new month : the Wallpaper tool (turn any photo into desktop wallpaper with a monthly calendar) and the Calendar tool (create monthly calendars from your photographs). I have already made a wallpaper & it looks great (specially that my laptop is 1440x900 and I don't find that many wallpapers this weird size !), and I'm planning to print one of my photo from my Flickr photos as top of the January calendar. This way I won't have to buy a calendar, and I'll even have a calendar with my own photos ! How neat ! You should have a look, you may be interested ! :)

This morning (it's 11am right now) I sewed the 3rd of the 4 mini felt pics I'm making. Only one to go now ... so this one was about garlic ...As the background & the garlic colors were the same, I had to embroider it entirely instead of using felt for the garlic itself. I hope it looks fine this way. :)

If you could visit us these days (well, it's been like this for a big month now ...), you could see things like these :Our little scientist is really into it ... we're eating science at every meal, if you see what I mean ! LOL and of course lil* bro* is also getting into it ... obviously !

OK, have to go now. I hope you all have a great Sunday !
Deb, I promise the tutorial is coming real soon. As soon as the last mini felt pic is finished, which I hope will be tonight !! :) Thanks for your patience !
Big hugs, and best wishes to all !! xoxo

  1. Hi Sonia,
I think it's highly likely that taking those supplements is what's helped avoid colds this winter! Fingers crossed of course that they continue to help! I know that echinacea particularly is good for the immune system. Propolis is the bee thing isn't it? Don't know much about it's benefits though.
Thanks for the tips on the Flickr extras, am going to take a peek :)

  4. All of your embroidered felt items are great! Do you use 100% wool felt or a blend?

I'm "caught up" for now! Hopefully, you are in bed and not writing a post even as I write this! LOL

    Love you!
