That's right, and even if we, SAHMs, love our job, let's be honest, we don't get vacations. Never. My boys've been on vacation (autumn break) since Saturday, and till Nov. 05th (included). Chris will take 3 days off next week, so added to the weekend, that'll make 5 days off. He badly needs a break, poor man, he never gets a break except weekends & he helps me so much & is so present with the boys ... he is SUCH a fantastic & unique husband & father. {I know you read me sweetie, kiss kiss OXOXO} Anyway ... where was I ? Uuuh .. yeah, no vacation for mama !
Today started with a raining weather, but changed during the morning, which gave me the opportunity to take photos of what I had sewn yesterday ... two tissue cozies. They're in the shop , btw.

You may wonder what is hanging with the tissue cozy ... it's a little invention of mine (I swear I never saw that before, but I am not aware of everything that currently exists on the planet) I'm no genius, but I thought it may be handy to add this kind of belt (that opens & closes with a velcro) that will go round a handbag's handle, so that the cozy won't jump in the abyss of the handbag. See what I mean ?
Then, after taking lots of photos, I uploaded them, resized them etc, and listed them on Etsy (which takes a bit of time). After that we went shopping for food with the boys, and after we came back, I cooked them a pizza. (OK, ready made dough & ready made sauce, but the sauce was organic & with olive, it was delicious)
The boys had this one (a square for each) & then I cooked another one this evening for Chris & I's dinner. Just tomatoe + olive sauce, ham, grated gruyère cheese, origano & Herbes de Provence. YUMMY.
Yesterday Chris had prepared something that is quite a tradition in his family ... Pâtes à l'ail. Read "pasta with garlic", if you prefer. Ours were linguini, and with parmigiano reggiano on top, it was blissful. :D
The rest of the day was filled with housework (obviously) and lots of little things done with/for the boys. I also baked prune+oatflakes+apple+cinnamon muffins ... which lead me to ... a major headache, that soon faded away with the help of ibuprofen. Phew.
I still have not touched the Dream cushion project again, don't know why, really. But it's like that. I work only with inspiration & motivation, or I don't work at all.
I'll do the Christmas books in French Review tomorrow, I promise, Aneth. :) I'm so behind lots of things ... uuuh. :( I have three mails/convo/Flickrmails to answer & absolutely must do that right now, so better leave you now, wishing you a lovely week ahead !!! Big hugs to all OXOXOXO

Yummy linguine all'aglio e parmigiano, Sonia! :) Easy, but really good, we both like it! You are spoiling your men, that's cool! :) Sometimes we think of you as "super-mom"! Great new additions to your Etsy shop! :) Way to go! Have a happy evening, hugsz!
ReplyDeleteYou are so very welcome my friend! BIG HUGS!! I really appreciate the post cards you sent me! I show them to every one of my customers! I moved my big black and white poster of Paris into my salon. It fits perfectly in there! Yes its sadly true, us moms dont get vacations. When the kids are grown and gone is when we'll be able to have our vacations! Yum, that linguini looks so delicious! And thats the way I like mine! Have a wonderful week sweetie! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteooh yum, I love pasta. When I'm very lazy and want something quick and easy, I just have pasta with grated cheddar over it. Very simple and most people would think 'how boring' but I love it. :O)I'm a simple soul!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I agree, the jar and candle idea is absolutely brilliant. I am so glad I bought that book on Saturday, I so very nearly said to Bill 'don't bother'. With Amazon books being such good prices and how lovely it is to get them through the post, the book seemed so expensive (it's just a tiny little book, slightly larger than the SB Christmas Joy book, to give you an idea).
Thank you so much for your comments on Flickr! I always forget that people can leave comments, so I've had a lovely time reading all the comments you've left!
I think your tissue hanging idea is not only a brilliant one, but also unique. I've not seen that idea ANYWHERE, you should patent it, stop anyone else claiming to be the inventor. For mums like me, who always have tissues, and always have to rootle around for them, it's the perfect solution. Seriously, look into patenting it, to keep it your own.
Time I was off. We've had such a lovely walk this morning, frost everywhere! :O) Now it's time to sit and sew. xxxx
p.s I totally agree. Mums never have a day off! But would we change a thing? Not on your life! :O) xx
ReplyDeleteooh, forgot to say. Had a lovely email early this morning, from none other than Cherry! What a surprise. I really didn't expect a response. She was very complimentary about the addition of ivy on the apple wreath. So sweet of her to write back, it made my day! :O) x
ReplyDeleteCiao Sonia, how are you today? :) I've something for you on my blog - today post :) Hugs & sunny-smiles your way!
