The Compromise

Happy Autumn Equinox to everyone, my friends !!
It'd been a whole week that the sun'd been shining. Not a cloud in the sky for more than a week. Pretty amazing for Paris, I'll tell you, but I was so happy to see Summer waving one last time byebye to us. Clouds are joining the fun this afternoon, & I guess the week will turn grey & rainy. This will be a busy week.
Tomorrow my mom will arrive & will stay for a week, hurray !! I've already many things planned to do with her, can't wait !!! I'll have to shop for food at the health store before she arrives, because on Thursday, U will be going to the farm, with his class & another class, and in the afternoon they'll make bread ! How fun is that !! So he'll need a nice little picnic to bring. The same day I plan to go to the hairdresser's & get my hair dyed & cut. And the same evening Chris & I will go out on a date. (woohoo !) On Friday I have an appointment at the dentist's. (one of the very last time before next year, I hope) See ... this week's going to be full, and my mom's bday is on the 24th too, so this makes a long list of things to do this week ! Phew ! Specially if we squeeze craft time whenever we can ! LOL
I managed to embellish my very simple & homemade curtains in the living room ... they were plain rectangles & I just sewed them to make this :I'm happy with that, and it will last until we'll move next summer. I had to close the shutters or you wouldn't have seen them very correctly.
I also worked a bit on the embroidered house project ... adding flowers, plants, a bench, a watering can & a bell to ring ... eheh
OK, now onto The Compromise thingie ...
Believe me or not, but I'm going to stick with the soap for washing my dishes !! But I'll forget the brush, I suppose, because it's frankly too tricky to use both at the same time, at least for the moment. With the help of my (brilliant) hubby (kiss kiss, honey, I know you're reading this !! LOL), we came to the conclusion that we can keep on cleaning the dishes with Savon de Marseille, which is a VERY good thing, the only obligation is to rince with very hot water. Now I'll do my best to put a max of dishes in the dishwasher, and what can't go to the dishwasher will be handwashed, with soap. Concerning the (too) greasy dishes/stuff, we came to the conclusion that we need liquid detergent for these. So I bought the smallest & most ecological one I could find, and I hope it will last for months & months & months. We won't be throwing away another dish detergent plastic bottle for a long time, I guess !! That's a good thing, as small as it can be, but very efficient if you think about a lifetime period.
Yep, that's going to be our way to wash the dishes now. Why wouldn't YOU give it a try ?
OK, have to go now. I'd like to sew a birthday gift for my mom ... this afternoon. Wish me luck please. Ahah.
Big hugs to all OXOXO

  1. Ciao Sonia, it's great you have a dishwasher and I admire you want to use Savon de Marseille to cleah the other dishes. :) Enjoy your mom! I did enjoy a sunny day too. I added a few pics to my today-post, but had a few problems with my camera (AAARGH!) so more will (hopefully) come later. Hugs!!! Zeno says hello too.

  2. Oh Sonia, I just had to stop by on my way up to my sick bed. The embroidery house is so fantastic. My hubby even commented on it while he was talking to me over my shoulder. It is so clever, so pretty. You should sell these in Etsy, in a simple ring. How beautiful.

Hope you have a wonderful time with your mum coming, bet the boys are excited.

    Much love, babe, ClareXX
