So ... yes, the rain began to fall, yesterday afternoon (it had been predicted by the weather forecast) ... stormy showers. I tell you that the summery temps of yesterday & two/three days ago are totally gone ! It rained all night too, and it's back to chilly, real autumnal temps ! I don't mind rain as long as I don't have to stay for long under a cold one ! LOL But when I'm home, I love watching at the raindrops falling in the (homemade) birdbath ...

Yesterday I was quite efficient, and even though I didn't manage to start anything craft related, I'm almost seeing the end of the tunnel of sorting out all my papers. (you know, all these inspirational bits of paper that I kept for the last 10 years ... yes, these !) I ironed, cooked, cleaned (hopefully as it's rainy/raining/wet today !), and relaxed a bit too. So I feel better now, thanks ! :) I know that tomorrow (Saturday) we won't go to Paris, and even though I know we're lucky to be able to go there, it feels some kind of good & cozy to know we'll stay around. We have to go to the optician's for the boys, but except this duty, we're free to go ... to Starbucks for instance ... mmm ... and to stay home & do cozy things at home ... a good weekend ahead I think.
I wanted to share two things too.
First, a laundry tip ... remember the strawberry stains on my clothes ? Yep, so I googled a bit (HOW PRACTICAL !) and found a personal site in which the lady told to put lemon on the stains & put to the washing machine. Simply that. And IT WORKED ! I couldn't believe it, but that's true. Use LEMON juice to remove STRAWBERRY STAINS. I love that, it's all natural & it works great !
And secondly, I've been wanting to dry orange slices for years & never got started (why, I don't know !) So ... yesterday I finally started & we'll see how it'll evolve. And if it works fine, I'll do lots more !

Oh, before I forget ... I'm diying to bake cinnamon rolls (you know, iced on the top ... mmmm) & am asking you all if you ever baked some & have a super recipe to share with me. Of course I found some on the net, but I'd love to know if anyone here already has a great one ! Thanks in advance !
Have a super great weekend, my friends. I'll be visiting this afternoon. OXOXOXO Big hugs OXOXOXO
Important note ... I'm still having huge problem with my emailbox, so I will maybe have to create a new one (and change it everywhere, you know ... Paypal, Etsy & everything ! uh !). If I change it, I'll send you all an email to let you know or will share it here. I'll see. Don't be surprised. :)
Buongiorno Sonia, glad you are feeling better. I must admit I feel a li'l better to. But you should have seen my face when yesterday evening Zeno got home telling me that he will go to Germany on the 24th for 3 days... for work. But the 24th is our 3rd anniversary of our 2nd marriage!!! I was already planning a night out!!! Grrrr... Don't take me wrong, I'm glad he has this opportunity, but I'm not so glad I will be here all alone. Anyway, I think my grampiness is 50% hormonal (PMS) and 50% sun deprivation, LOL! Oh, befor I forgot, may you share your recipe for cinnamon rolls? :) I'd love to try making them too. I did dry orange slices 8 years ago (wow, that long?) and they came out so-so. I had to use the oven and they were a lil too brown. Anyway, I used them to dacorate Xmas-presents. Better go, have a happy weekend ahead! Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your grumpy chops are happy chops now Sonia! :O)
ReplyDeletethe pictures on the classroom windows are so lovely.
I used to dry orange slices in the oven. It's simple, but you do need to keep an eye on them. They have a tendancy to 'catch' on the edges sometimes! A low oven for several hours is all that's needed, but really, do watch them!
I use washing up liquid on stains, that seems to shift everything from strawberry gunk to poo marks! (I am of course referring to Humbugs clothing, which ends up with all manner of stains all over it!), I will have to try the lemon one, I've not heard of that one before for strawberries.
It's been raining here since early this morning! ha ha ha! I don't mind at all. I cooked pumpkin pie, and felt so cosy. :O)
Hope all went well at the dentists.
Ok, time to go. Little one is singing in the bath! Yes, she's in the bath already. She had her nap then told me she wanted a bath. With it so cold and rainy outside, I thought why not. Sounds like a lovely cosy thing to do to me!
have a lovely weekend xx
Hello Sonia, I used to dry orange slices on a cookie sheet in a very low oven, if your way doesn't work, this might help. Sorry you weren't well, nothing like a good laugh to make you feel better. I love your mistletoe. Fall seems to be so early for you, I was surprised by the leaves & acorns etc Are they dried one or did you find them this year? It wouldn't find anything like this until mid October when we lived outside New York City. Here I guess it's even different as I haven't ever spent an Autumn here.
ReplyDeleteHere's a fantastic cinnamon roll recipe, let me know if you try it.

It's a wonderful site too.
Have a fantastic weekend sweetie, big hugs
Hi Sonia,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling more cheery today...I know how it is when different things conspire to make you grumpy! I don't think the miserable weather helps. I've been struggling to stay cheerful with my new class as so many of them seem to want to make me grumpy!!
I do of course love the pictures the children did on their window.....they are so good for that age. Most of mine are still doing the Humpty Dumpty type figures with the arms and legs coming out of a large head/body. Just shows how immature they are this year.
Re the problem with your mailbox. I had that happen to me once and it turned out to be a 'trapped' email which was too large come through. As the email provider I was using could be accessed on their website I was able to go on the and delete the problem email, then everything else came through ok. Not sure if that will help!
Have a lovely weekend :o)
Hey Sonia, glad your feeling better, love the photos today. The rain storms are lovely to watch from indoors I agree.
ReplyDeleteI dry oranges in the oven at christmas, on a really low heat, its yummy.
Take care, much love, ClareX
