This Is Paris (part I)

It's already 11pm as I'm typing so I'll be short, I'm a bit tired.
So we went to Paris today, as scheduled. I thought I'd give you the headlines, specially with the help of photos. Here we go, fasten your seatbelt please. *Ü* We started by a stop at Starbucks near the Opera. This photo shows typical Parisian buildings, on the Avenue de l'Opéra.Then we went to the Palais Royal & its gardens. Lovely when the flowers are in full bloom. There is a traditional toy boutique, that sells tons of wooden toys (specially Vilac's - http://www.vilac.com) My eyes were caught by line of wooden vegetables ... totally adorable, look !Then we went to Thanksgiving, the boutique that sells US & Canadian food ... uh no such luck ... they were closed.
A good advice for people who come to visit Paris to do a lot of shopping : DON'T VISIT IN AUGUST !! Lots of shops are closed ! (not the biggest ones, hopefully !)
Anyway ... where was I ? ... Uh ... so we walked through the Place des Vosges (we had never been there)Then we went to have lunch at Exki, and did find all of U's bday presents. He was soooo thrilled ! :) Then we did one last stop at Le Bon Marché, as I wanted to buy cream colored felt, and that's the only place I know that sells some. Then we went back home, by the middle of the afternoon, and the rest of the afternoon/evening, was filled by games, laundry, and so on and so on ...
I hope tomorrow will be a bit more cozier ... I probably wish it rained ... cooking, crafting, reading ... mmm ... I'd love that program ... I'll see !
Have a great Sunday everyone !! HUGS

  3. I so miss Paris and want to go back.

BTW, Vilac toys are available from many places. Their quality is excellent. I get mine from Landbridge Toys.

  4. Sounds like such a lovely day out, Sonia.
I have been through Paris about 7 times, but I never got to actually stay. Silly I suppose. I should make some time soon, and visit with my husband for a few days off. Have not been around online as much as I like, Summer is such a busy time. But I MUST check on your blog, or my day just does not feel "finished" :)
Sending you hugs! I am finishing your little U's package tonight....
I am hoping to mail it tomorrow, but am wanting to put a bit of a snail mail with it too :)
Better rush before the evening turns into night!

    *heart* annax

  5. Hi Sonia :) Sorry it's been awhile since my last visit. Things have been busy over here with me. I LOVED your pictures of Paris and I think the pic of your dishes is neat! I did notice that you like Gooseberry Patch's cookbooks too. I have like 20 of them, lol. My husband would say I am addicted to them - I hope your week ahead is a great one! Huggles
