I think we'll stay indoors all day long today. It's been raining cats & dogs since the day began. (talk about summer, yeah) I understand the ones of you who think that it's still summer & it's not really reasonable thinking about autumn already, but, frankly, with the weather that we get here around Paris (and I think in the UK too), sun/warmth/tank tops/cold drinks/bathsuits/light dresses/and so on ... are not on my mind anymore. I am planning to remove the summer themed (few) decorations & store them. I won't put autumn themed decorations yet, I'll leave the whole thing blank until I'll get totally inspired or once the rainy/chill/autumn-ish weather will be settled for good. I don't think I'll take the summer deco out next year as we'll be in the middle of moving. But as summer lasts until the end of September (for real, but really, I mean), in the south of France, I will take them out in August 2009.
I've been efficient (since we haven't walked out of the appartment this morning) and had a load of laundry washed, I ironed til the basket got 100% empty (hurray, please shout hurray with me !), unloaded the dishwasher, re-loaded it, washed the dishes (anyway), cooked, tidied up, played with the boys, surfed a bit on the net & found new great blogs to read ... and it'll soon be lunchtime & it's already almost totally ready !
Yesterday night (just like every night before going to bed), I wrote my (loooong) list of things to do today. (for the day after, I mean) I'm such a (pitiful ?) list lover & list maker ! I love making lists ... I have decided to make a (glass) jar (Ikea) that I'll fill with bits of papers, on which I'll write things to do (like subscribing to a mag.) or buy (like a big table or such) or wishes (simple like grow aromatic herbs or cherry tomatoe) for once we'll have moved & will be settled. It's a nice idea, I think, and I hope it'll help me/us knowing what we need/don't need/ what is essential & what can wait a bit.
The boys played nicely with Playmobil almost all morning long, while I was doing all the stuff I had to do, while listening/watching Peppa Pig & You've Got Mail DVDs. Gotta love these kids ! LOL I plan to make some crafts, writing, reading books with them this afternoon. I also have planned to prepare two parcels (that I won't post today I'm sorry, it's raining too much !), to have a good look at the last copy of Country Living & at the pile of Gooseberry Patch books, I also want to sew U's bday bunting, like the one I made for P. I made such long lists that I got up shortly after going to bed to add other things to my lists. OMG how crazy am I ?! (no, that was not a question for you, so please don't answer !!! LOL ahah)
Wishing you a great Friday & end of the week, and a glorious weekend ahead ! We'll stay home tomorrow & will celebrate U's 4th bday on Sunday, at home, as Chris will be working on Monday (the real bday date) I bet it's going to be fun ! :) If the bunting is ready tomorrow (and IT HAS TO BE !! -note to self, btw-) I'll show you of course !!! Best wishes !! OXOXOX
it's not summer here either Sonia, hasn't been since July really. Not that I mind in the slightest, though it is a shame for all the people holidaying in England instead of going to hot climates. The kids have probably driven their mums insane from being constantly cooped up during summer hols too!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, and enjoy your weekend *ΓΌ* x
I'm terribly old fashioned and refuse to admit that summer is over until 22nd September....knowing our luck the minute we go back to school summer will return anyway! Actually I did get to do a bit of sunbathing yesterday which was fairly amazing :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th birthday to U for Monday and wishing him a fun day for Sunday :)
