Oh my, July already ! And yesterday was sooooo busy that I couldn't even post a small entry !
I managed to make the last tissue holder (as gifts to P & U's teacher), I also sewed cards with the matching fabrics I used, making the initial of the teacher. Wrote the cards, and wrapped the whole thing ! Phew, that was quite a task & finished making all this minutes before bringing them actually !
So this one (above) was for the teacher, and I made two others to list on Etsy ... I loved making them, I think they are very feminine & summery, look :
Yesterday Chris didn't go to work, because the train workers had stopped working because a train driver had been attacked the night before. So, in the morning we went to Starbucks, to the health store, we also went to H&M where he found clothes on sales (yes, it's been the sales for a week now) In the afternoon, I brought U back to school, because there was a kind of summer fun party. What a cool idea ! (no pun intended) Yesterday was VERY hot here & the teachers had decided to do this party yesterday (while the weather was nice & hot) because the weather was predicted not to be good on Thursday. The kids had icecreams/sorbets popsicle, and the teachers had lots of fun with water guns. (word for it ?) All the kids must have been SO surprised to see their teachers doing that ! Ahah ! After school, we decided to go to Disneyland, as we probably won't return there before we'll be back from our vacations, in August. The weather was gorgeous so that was nice. (if not, TOO hot !)
We walked home (BOY we were beyond exhausted & our feet were swollen !!!) to this gorgeous sky :
Today the boys are home, the weather is less hot, more grey & I won't complain ! I have tons to iron, and will be waiting the end of the afternoon, when it'll be even cooler, to iron the whole thing. In the meantime, I have to keep the boys busy, so I imagined this little craft to make with them & toilet paper rolls ! Cable cars !!! Eheh !
{TOILET PAPER ROLL CABLE CARS}
First, take an toilet paper empty roll. Cut two windows & keep the remnants to make two people bust. Let the kids color color the roll, and make a face to the people & color their outfit. Cut a straw to fit the length of the roll, and with scotch tape, fix it on the top of the cable car. With scotch tape also, fix the two little people inside the windows. Pass a loooooong string trough the straw & your cable car is ready to work !! (from a door handle to the bottom of a chair, for instance !)
Wanted to say that I will preparing the blog giveaway until we leave on vacation (Saturday 12th July), but I will be hosting it when we return, in August. Stay tuned then, if you're interested !
I also wanted to thank Darylynn & Nikki for advicing me about books, I'll have a better look today or tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to be rescued by two Super-Heroes !!!
