It's Saturday evening & wow what a day it's been !! We're all beyond exhausted (U & P slept in the train on our way back home, but they are in bed now, and Chris just fell asleep on the sofa ...) because it was a hot day here & because we walked soooo much. (we often don't realize that part, but you walk TONS in a big city like Paris, specially for little ones' little legs !!) So ... we took the train (RER A) around 9am & the first place we went was Starbucks. (we, coffee addicts that we are !) I was the happy witness of a very important thing in my 6 y-o P's life ... he lost his first tooth !!
He was a bit amazed (and so were we) as he hadn't felt himself that it had fallen. (right into his mouth, while eating a ... muffin, and he would have eaten it if I hadn't seen it ! eek !) We were close to Bercy park ...
... and we happily visited the vegetable garden. There (shhh, please don't tell), the boys tasted a freshly picked (by daddy) radish, two or three wild strawberries (Fragaria Vesca) ... and we admired lots of beautiful flowers, plants & bees/bumblebees at work. My photos will speak by themselves ...

Then we walked through the rose garden (in full bloom ... so romantic, look at this pic)
Then we crossed the Seine River to go to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (= national library of France), in which we entered to show the boys, and to visit an exhibition about globes under Louis XIV king. (visit here & here) After that we went to Exki to have lunch. After a quick stop at the toy store (to have a look for U's coming bday on August 25th) we went to the Jardin d'Acclimatation. Boy, by then it was really hot ! It had been overcast (though warm) all morning, but at that time, it was sunny & hot ! Hopefully, there is a kind of giant water spray, which was a total delight with those temps !
They played a lot ...
And we also visited the vegetable garden there ... where I was amazed to see my P doing this :
And after a snack (because we all needed it !) we went back home by train, and they both fell asleep in it. In a word, it was a day of sweet sweet memories !!
Before I forget, I wanted to recommend a book I bought last month (or the month before ?) It's named "Follow The Line Through The House", by Laura Ljungkvist, ISBN 0670062251 (here on Amazon) I plan to buy all the other books if they are available on the French Amazon, because they have that retro look that I adore, and because the concept is brilliant to me. The boys love it too !
And, before I completely forget to show & tell, here is Chris & I's favorite dessert right now ... organic yoghourt + organic strawberries + organic raspberries ... mmm summer delights ... (PS : this evening we had corn on the cob & cantaloupe, yum)
I hope you're all enjoying a fabulous summer weekend !!
