As a teen, I was not really into fashion, and I DO blame my mom for not interesting me in the pleasure of getting dressed in a proper & pretty way. Man I didn't cost a fortune in clothes ! I do blame my mom because she knows how to sew & she either could have sewn me clothes that were a bit fashionable at the time, or she could have learnt me how to sew myself my own clothes. (which would have probably end into a disaster, so maybe that's not that bad !)
I'm not into fashion nowadays neither. BUT I'm doing my best to find the clothes, patterns, shapes, colors, and accessories 1)that suit me best & 2)that I like. I won't say I have a style of my own, I'm not pretentious at all, but these days, I really like how I manage to mix & match clothes that weren't meant to be together. Years ago, I would have never thought that most my wardrobe would come from H&M, but sincerely, my bank account doesn't allow me much, and anyway I wouldn't like to spend much more on clothes or accessories. Today I'm dressed & accessorized from ear to toe (or should I say from earrings to tights !) by H&M ! And, I think that with the help of the (cheap, only 01.90 euros !) red hoop earrings, I have a kind of retro feeling. (no, I haven't drunk, so please don't laugh ! LOL)
Now ... maybe I should talk about something else, what do you think ? I have started working on the brooches (Mother's Day gifts for my mom & MIL) ... and as my mom asked for something blue, and my MIL for something pink, I have decided to make a wild-chicory-looking brooch for my mom & a rosa-gallica-looking brooch for my MIL.

I can also show you the adorable train themed birthday candles holder I found this morning while shopping for eggs. (essential as I'll be baking muffins the next two weeks, starting tomorrow evening)

It's 10.20am as I'm typing. I've taken the boys to school, went shopping for eggs (and more), washed the dishes & loaded the dishwasher too, surfed the internet (making some blog friends visits), and hoovered the appartment too. As I was hoovering our bedroom, I thought about taking a pic of the view we have from our window. Roses are in full bloom in the garden which is in the middle of the buildings. That's very beautiful, it smells good, but it sure isn't very cautious with little ones (and there are many around here, lots of young couples with one, two or three little ones).

U slept correctly last night, which hadn't happened for weeks now. His fever seems to calm down, but I do keep an eye on it all the time. The weather ... aaaah the weather ... a month ago, it was early May & the temps were absolutely summery (25°C something) ... and now ... well ... it's drizzling, it's grey & chill & it feels like a cozy rainy spring day. Yeah, friends, spring is still the official season around Paris.
PS : I enjoyed having new visitors yesterday, so please if you read this blog & are a silent reader (just like I am for suuuuuuuch numerous blogs !), don't be shy & say hi (or anything you want). I'll try to return the visit if I have the link back to you ! Thanks !!

Hi Sonia! I finally found time to come online and visit. Took me awhile but I'm all caught up on your posts. =o) Looks like you've been super busy. I love all your crafts, especially the cute lil licorices. Thanks (as always) for sharing the great photos. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia! What a lovely view! I love the courtyard park-like setting between the buildings! I went to an H&M forthe first time when I went to see Sex and the City. They're fairly new in the US. Hope summer finally arrives foryou! (((Hugz)))
