... to the day we'll be celebrating P's 6th birthday, that is. We decided to celebrate it on Saturday, along with the two friends he invited. (yes, two only, but anyway our appartment is too small to have much more than two + us four at the same time) A boy & a girl, perfect. I hope everything will go smoothly & that everyone will have fun. We won't be doing anything extravagant, we'll keep the whole thing simple.
Yesterday afternoon, in order to keep the boys busy for 5 minutes, I asked them to help me building the bunting I sewed for P's party. (and that will be used in their bedroom then, as *semi?* permanent decoration) They were happy to help & once sewn, the bunting proved to be nicely long (over 3 meters), which is perfect as I feared it would be too short. I wanted to add buttons but once I counted, I needed 25 of them & didn't have 25 to use on that single project, and anyway, I think it would have made the bunting too heavy.
I'm happy I made it, I was postponing & wondered (until yesterday) if I would make it in time for the party. (aaah ... me & postponing ... a real love story)
As much as yesterday was sunny & reasonnably warm for the season, today is raining, grey, chill. No wonder why illnesses are still around. (the cold I started to have before going to Provins is not 100% away & it was almost 3 weeks ago, and now it's Chris' turn to be ill, yuck) Hopefully I handwashed the boys' jacket yesterday & they were dry this morning for them to wear them.
OK, sorry for the short entry today, but I had warned you that my entries would probably short this month. I'm happy to be able to post everyday, which feels good. Time does fly by FAR TOO QUICKLY for me. :( Still being very melancholic these days, my friends.

I agree about time slipping away too quickly. This morning has been a prime example for me. Out bright and early, then non stop washing, ironing, tidying, sandwich making, prep for dinner tonight, and now finally I can sit down and have a quick surf, but little one will be up again within the next half an hour! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteA small party sounds perfect to me. Too many people try to do the Big Party thing, which is just so much hard work for the mum.
Right. Got to go. Have a great day. The sun is shining here this afternoon, but it's beautifully breezy too. A beautiful day :O) xx
Time does fly by too quickly!
ReplyDeleteYous are all in my thoughts, and I hope the melancholic feelings will soon go!
Sending you a hug! x
Hi Sonia, when you're feeling blue try to count all the things you have to be thankful for and don't dwell on those that get you down. I know you're sad about your boys growing up but each and every day is a joy to be treasured no matter what their age and stage is! My boy has long flown the nest and I only see him every now and then but I treasure those times, those phone calls and I'm proud that he has grown into a wonderfully responsible and kind man.
ReplyDeleteBe happy!!!!
Hi again Sweetie, you're too cute. I know things are awfully expensive in France, I have a few French friends on the French Riviera :) I'm not shocked or worst, don't worry. I hope you are not blue anymore, I didn't realize you were.
ReplyDeleteHave a good night dear Sis, big hugs & baisers
morning, am here too early for a Friday post. Will be back later.
ReplyDeleteJust reading Nikki's comment, and have to say that she is so right. The other day when I was sorting out Humbugs clothes for the charity bag, I was thinking 'oh no, she's growing up so quickly', but on the other hand, I love watching the person she is becoming and enjoy every new stage. It's the only way. Best to just enjoy every moment. We waited so long to become parents, that I can't look at the gloomy side of later years! ;o)
have a lovely Friday, will stop by later xx
