Happy New Week to all !
I didn't bother to post yesterday because I spent all my morning either washing, cleaning, hoovering or ironing. (my dear hubby fixed the problem for me -YEAH no need to bring it to repair!) I ironed for probably an hour & a half & was a couple of clothes away from emptying the basket completely if I hadn't been VERY fed up by the end ! I was VERY happy to have done that much anyway ! Dear hubby even asked how it was possible that clothes piled up so quickly (uh, honey, where did you find such an idea ?!) & asked me if I didn't washed the clothes too often !! AH ! {insert big fat laughs here, thanks} Come on ! It's an automatic thing ! It piles up instantly the moment there is nothing left, whether it's for washing or ironing ! Oh well, maybe I ironed for too long & it burnt one of my neurons. LOL
U is with me today. His teacher has an appointment to the doctor's this morning & is not getting someone else to teach her class. I have so much to do ... I hope U will cooperate & will leave me the proper time to make a max.
Yesterday evening, Chris & I cooked Nigella Lawson's Lemon Linguini. I had already tried them with my MIL once, but Chris had never tried them. Mmmm, so easy & so delicate & delicious ! Perfect for summer ! To make long short, you cook your linguini, and in a bowl beat one egg yolk (for two persons, 2 eggs for 4 persons) like for a mayonnaise, then add grated parmesan cheese (to your taste), then add cream (we only added 10cl instead of the 25cl required & it was far enough, we didn't use thick cream though), then add the juice of one lemon. (2 for 4 persons). Salt, pepper to your taste. Once the linguini are cooked, add the sauce on them, but away from the ring (the sauce must not cook as there is egg yolk is it) That's it ! Enjoy !
OK, this won't be long today, sorry. I'm off to hang the clothes to dry & then I'll go to the mall with U. Time flies !! Enjoy the start of your week !! (will double post if time & inspiration allow)

Another day!

IT makes me smile. you have a wonderful imagination power!!
Have a nice day!!
I have to laugh. Only a man could query the laundry. Bill knows better that to ask any q's about it to me, or he'd get a wallop! It is true, as soon as piles of washing are done and ironed, *ta da* another pile appears. Didn't I say this morning 'the washing & ironing are up to date'? Yes, I did, and yet, right now, my washing line is full! That's just stuff piled up from yesterday, and we're just a family of three, so I can imagine how your washing must bubble out of nowhere. I often think back to when I was little, and am full of admiration for my mum. I'm one of four, so can you imagine how she used to keep the house clean and tidy with four kids charging around, and a husband who works a job that would often have him coming home caked in dust? She's very houseproud, and I remember our home always being neat and tidy, our clothes always clean. I honestly don't know how she did it, but I do know where my obsession for cleaning comes from!
ReplyDeletehave a great day Sonia. xx

Ugh, don't talk to me about washing!! We were out nearly all weekend which is my washing time, so I currently have about four loads waiting to be done :( And by next weekend......actually I'm hoping to tackle some of it tomorrow afternoon as I'm allowed to come home to write my reports (and do the washing!).
ReplyDeleteI love the pic of U dressed up as a clown, how cute!! What a brilliant thing for the children to do. I think circuses are much bigger in France than they are here.
Yummy muffins!!
Hi Sonia! Thanks for the Father's Day wishes! I think the men enjoyed their day! The Lemon Linguini sounds perfect for summer, I agree! Chris better learn to duck if he's going to ask questions like that! ;) Enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))
ReplyDeleteThe lemon linguini sound so yummy, it's funny I did lemon rice today, there's something about lemons in summer. Poor Chris doesn't seem to have any idea where he gets his clean clothes from :) things pile up so fast & I can imagine how it is with two little boys. I hate ironing & manage not to. Have a fantastic week sweetie, big hugs
